Daily Inspiration: Meet Jay Krymis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Krymis.

Hi Jay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a seasoned film and television actor and producer known for work both in front of and behind the camera.
I have an extensive background in performance, production, and industry leadership and represent a class of entertainment professionals who understand the mechanics of storytelling from multiple vantage points.

I started acting at the age of 13. Currently you can find me as the lead in Insidious “possession” as well as “The Steemer” from the Stanley Steemer ad campaign. Recent production projects include “Phoenix Jones” documantary as well as “The Pickup Artist” starring Alexis Knapp and Evan Ross.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been mountains of struggles, missteps and huge mistakes. The trick is to always learn. What went wrong, How can we make sure we do not make that error again and how can I teach others not to make the same mistake.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Actor, poducer as I described in the first question. I also own a bar in Los Angeles called Mic’s Bar with my amazing wife Michel.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Currently reading Lonesome Dove but my favorite author is Cormac mcCarthy.

I listen to a ton of podcasts and sites geared towards creatives.. especially actors.

I highly recommend “The Art of War,”
