Check Out Rayna Verdine’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayna Verdine.

Hi Rayna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an independent filmmaker based in the Long Beach area. I was introduced to the arts through my church expanding my creative knowledge, understanding and passion for creating something with my words, my voice and myself. I developed my own production company when I started college in 2016, in those 10 years of developing, writing, rewriting and rewriting, learning, studying and knowing, I launced my production company in 2026, producing and directing my first two films and continuing to write, produce and direct more productions that are in currently in development.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road at all. There was so many turn arounds, bumps, bloackage and even stop signs that made me almost give up on my dream. When I first had the idea of having a production company, I knew it was going to be a lot of work, time, resources, connections and beyond but that wasn’t gonna stop me. I have written numerous scripts that I thought I was going to immediately start working on but that didn’t happen. I didn’t have my own equipment, I didn’t have a team to back me up, I didn’t have resources, I had nothing. After many trials, errors, asking people for help and support, I said forgot it, I’m going to do it myself. And I did. I taught myself how to operate a camera, edit my own footage, self promotion, managing myself an an independent, get the word out and IT HAPPENED!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an independent filmmaker, writer, producer, director, actor and model. I specialize in the performing and visual arts since age 4. I have my own production company called bluRain productions of which I create my own original stories to share with the world. I was known in the model industry for a few years, also being a student actor and now I continue to do all those things along with now being a filmmaker. I am very proud of myself for not quitting on myself or my dream. After making my first film, I didn’t want to stop there. I am currently finishing my second film, casting for two new ones and writing three new scripts. This is just the beginning of what I want to do and I’m excited to see where it takes me and how it impacts people.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is watching movies with my mom whether it was at home or at the theaters. We would watch new movies and rewatch movies and series we have already seen for a tenth time. Because of my mom, I was introduced to different genres of films. With that, it did help with my reading skills, I learned different lanaguages, perfected my memorization with learning my lines and even my creativity of connection. I cherish that and still do it to this day with her, never getting bored of it.
