Rising Stars: Meet David Lawrence Palmer of Irvine, Ca

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lawrence Palmer.

Hi David Lawrence, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It’s a pretty wild story because, if you looked at my life at certain points, none of where I am today would have made any sense. I actually started in reality television. I was on MTV’s *Parental Control* and *Next*, and then I got cast on ABC’s *True Beauty*, which was produced by Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher. That was a huge moment for me because I made a decision that was pretty risky at the time: I went onto national television openly calling myself a DJ and an astrologer. You have to remember, this was before astrology became what it is on social media today. Being a young guy, a DJ, doing modeling and entertainment, and then saying publicly, “Yeah, I’m also an astrologer,” was not exactly the safe career move. Jimmy Kimmel actually picked on me on *Jimmy Kimmel Live* because he didn’t believe in astrology. I was basically this reality-TV DJ astrologer he could make fun of. Ironically, that ended up helping launch my career because people remembered me.

What came next is the part of the story that means the most to me, because after doing three reality shows, being in tabloids, having all this television exposure, and thinking I was on my way somewhere, it all disappeared. I ended up homeless. I remember the absurdity of it. I had already been on national television. I had been in the tabloids. I had literally been made fun of on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*. And now I was sitting there with a laptop, no real security in my life, recording astrology videos for YouTube. That laptop changed everything. I started doing a daily horoscope every single day. I wasn’t waiting for somebody in Hollywood to give me another opportunity anymore. I wasn’t waiting for a network executive, a casting director, or anyone else to decide whether I was relevant. I could turn on the camera and broadcast, and I went all in.

I didn’t want astrology to be boring, watered down, or hidden in the back of a newspaper. I came from television, DJ culture, modeling, and entertainment. I wanted astrology to have energy. I wanted it to be bold. I wanted to talk about what was actually happening in people’s relationships, their careers, politics, celebrity culture, history, and the world. That consistency on YouTube eventually completely changed my life and turned The Leo King into a real career. Suddenly I wasn’t going on television as a reality-show contestant anymore. I was being brought onto television as the astrologer. I went from being the guy people were laughing at for talking about astrology to becoming a celebrity astrologer appearing across Entertainment Tonight, E!, BET, Steve Harvey, Fusion, Netflix, and other media, doing thousands and thousands of readings and building an audience around the world.

One of the things that really separated my work was that I was willing to make calls. I didn’t want to sit there and say something vague enough that it could mean anything. I started applying astrology to celebrities, politics, economics, wars, and major historical cycles. I went on BET with Keke Palmer and publicly talked about the problems I saw coming for Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Years later, my work became known for much bigger world predictions. Before COVID, I was publicly warning about the extreme astrology of 2020 and drawing attention to historical plague cycles. I have spent years tracking war cycles, American political cycles, economic shifts, technological revolutions, and the repeating patterns between astrology and history. I’ve made predictions that hit unbelievably close, and I’ve made calls that didn’t unfold exactly the way I thought they would. That’s part of having the guts to actually put predictions on the record. I would rather make a bold call and have the conversation than become an astrologer who never says anything specific enough to be wrong. That eventually became a huge part of my work: not just, “What’s your horoscope today?” but, “What the hell is happening to the world, and have we seen this pattern before?”

At the same time, I’ve always been a technology person. In 2014, while most people in this space were still thinking in terms of websites, blogs, and YouTube channels, I launched The Leo King app and built a subscription model around daily astrology video. That evolved into Future Life TV and eventually High Vibe TV, which I built into a full spiritual streaming network. That’s another part of the story that’s crazy for me to look back on. The guy who was homeless making horoscopes on a laptop eventually built his own television studios. I went from having nowhere to record to having professional studios where we could produce live television, documentaries, astrology shows, classes, events, and thousands of hours of original programming. I became as obsessed with what was behind the camera as what was happening in front of it. Cameras, lighting, editing, streaming, apps, servers, software, subscription platforms—I wanted to understand all of it because I’ve always believed that whoever understands the next medium has a chance to shape what happens inside of it.

Now that has led me straight into artificial intelligence. I’ve converted what were television studios into television and AI studios. I’m building Hypergate AI around advanced astrology and AI, SpiritDial AI around psychic and intuitive experiences, Past Life Labs around astrology and past-life exploration, and a larger AI studio around something I’ve spent my entire career building without realizing it was eventually going to become incredibly valuable: data. Thousands of videos. Thousands of hours of me teaching. Predictions. Readings. Classes. Historical research. Astrology techniques. The way I actually interpret charts and think. For years, those were television programs. Now they can become intelligence. That is fascinating to me.

I don’t want AI astrology that spits out the same generic paragraph everybody else gets. I’m trying to figure out how you take the lifetime work of a real astrologer and teach machines to understand that methodology while still using real astrology calculations and real astronomical data underneath it. In a strange way, I feel like I’m doing exactly what I did with YouTube and apps all over again. I’m looking at a new medium that most people still don’t completely understand and saying, “Okay, how do I take everything I know and rocket-ship it into this?”

Through all of these different chapters, I have never wanted to become the stereotype of what a spiritual person is supposed to look like. I’m still the DJ. I still DJ spiritual events because music has always been one of the ways I connect with people and create energy in a room. I’m still into fashion and modeling. I’m still obsessed with television production, technology, competition, and building things at a ridiculous level. I also race jet skis, which probably says a lot about me because I’ve always loved speed, competition, adrenaline, and pushing myself beyond what feels comfortable. I’ve never believed that being spiritual means you stop being intense, competitive, ambitious, physical, creative, or passionate. To me, spirituality was never about becoming less of yourself. It’s about becoming all of yourself. I want the badass version of spirituality. I want astrology with real edge and high production value. I want to be able to go from racing a jet ski to DJing a spiritual event to walking into an AI studio and building the future without pretending those are different people. They’re not. They’re all me.

But out of every role I’ve ever had, my favorite role in my life is being a father. My daughter was born in 2023 and my son was born in 2025, and I honestly feel unbelievably lucky to be their dad. I’m also a single father with 50/50 custody, so half of my life I’m running companies, developing AI products, producing television, teaching, creating, DJing, racing, and dealing with everything that comes with being an entrepreneur—and at the same time, I’m raising two little kids. There are definitely challenges trying to balance all of that. There are days where the business world doesn’t care that you were up with a child, and being a parent doesn’t care that you have a huge deadline, a live show, a race, or a company problem that needs to be solved. You figure it out. I wouldn’t trade that time with them for anything. I wouldn’t want to miss being there. The fact that I get them 50% of the time is something I’m extremely grateful for, and when they’re with me, being their dad matters more to me than anything else I do.

Fatherhood has completely changed the scale at which I think about the future. I’m building all of this technology while watching two little human beings enter a world that is going to be radically different from the one I grew up in. AI won’t be some futuristic concept to them. It’s going to be normal. The media landscape, education, careers, relationships with technology, and probably the entire way people build their lives are going to change. So when I’m working on AI now, I’m not only thinking as an entrepreneur asking, “What can I build?” I’m thinking as a father asking, “What kind of world are my children going to inherit, and what am I going to teach them about how to live in it?”

I still want to build huge things. I still want to push astrology and spirituality forward. I still want to make bold predictions, create media, build technology, DJ, race, compete, and explore where humanity is going. I don’t see any reason why spirituality has to mean shrinking yourself into one category. I want to take the whole thing—the astrology, the media, the music, the modeling, the racing, the entrepreneurship, the fatherhood, the technology—and rocket-ship that badass version of spirituality into the AI era.

Being a father has also put all of it into perspective. My kids get to see me building, struggling, succeeding, failing, rebuilding, and refusing to quit. More than anything, I want them to understand that your life is not defined by the moments when everything goes according to plan. It’s defined by what you do when it doesn’t.

That’s probably the thread through my whole story. Reality television disappeared, so I built on YouTube. Traditional media wasn’t giving astrology the platform I thought it deserved, so I built apps. Apps weren’t enough, so I built a network. The network needed a home, so I built studios. Now television and digital media are being transformed by artificial intelligence, so I’m turning those studios into AI studios and building again—while continuing to DJ, race jet skis, and most importantly, raise two kids who mean more to me than anything I could ever build.

When I think back to myself homeless with that laptop, I don’t look at that as the low point anymore. That was the launch pad. Everything I have today started when there was nobody left to give me permission but myself. And now, after everything that has happened, I get to do something even more meaningful than build the next company, play the next event, race the next race, or predict the next major cycle: I get to be a dad while I do it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
You learn that smooth only happens because you go through the rough. I think when my father died in 2021, that was one of the harder moments. We were super close and it was a shock. Now that I am a father, I feel like problems aren’t as hard, you learn as a parent to be there for your kids and it brings a better perspective to everything. Probably the hardest part entrepeneur wise, is when I had it all, stupid money, fame, success and I think that is when you stumnpble the most. You don’t get as hungry, you spend so much on things that do not matter, and I am grateful I got out of that mindset, and one of the meaning I am here. I had that at the beginning and realize now you can’t forget t for one second. That is when shit goes down!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work has always lived at the intersection of astrology, media, technology, spirituality, and entertainment. Most people know me as The Leo King, and at the core of everything I do is astrology, but I’ve never approached astrology in a traditional way. I specialize in predictive astrology, world astrology, historical cycles, celebrity astrology, relationships, major life transitions, and looking at the bigger patterns that are shaping where humanity is going. I’m known for making bold predictions and actually putting them on the record, whether I’m talking about world events, political cycles, wars, economics, celebrities, cultural shifts, or major turning points that I believe are coming. I don’t like vague astrology that can mean anything to anybody. I want to understand what the astrology is actually saying, connect it to history, and have the courage to make a real call.

A huge part of what sets me apart is the way I communicate astrology. I came out of television, DJ culture, modeling, entertainment, and media production, so I never wanted astrology or spirituality to feel boring, overly soft, or disconnected from real life. I wanted to make it exciting, cinematic, provocative, entertaining, and sometimes uncomfortable when the truth calls for it. I’ve always believed spirituality should make you more alive, not less alive. I can talk about Pluto, historical cycles, relationships, consciousness, or the future of humanity and then go DJ a spiritual event, race jet skis, build an AI application, or walk into a television studio. To me, those things are not contradictions. They are all expressions of being fully alive. That is a big part of what I mean when I talk about bringing a more badass version of spirituality into the world.

I’m also a builder. I didn’t want to spend my entire career just being an astrologer on somebody else’s platform, so very early on I started creating my own. In 2014, I launched one of the earliest subscription-based astrology and spiritual video apps, and that eventually evolved into High Vibe TV, my own spiritual streaming network. From there I built professional television studios and an entire production ecosystem around astrology, spirituality, education, live broadcasting, and original programming. I’m extremely proud of the fact that something that started with me recording daily horoscopes on a laptop eventually became a real media company with its own studios, technology, programming, community, and years of original content.

Today, one of the biggest areas of my work is artificial intelligence. I’ve become deeply involved in building AI products and figuring out how to take real human expertise, spiritual knowledge, astrology, and decades of original content and move it into the AI era without destroying what makes it valuable in the first place. Hypergate AI is a major part of that. The goal is not to create generic AI astrology where a machine spits out the same interpretation you could find anywhere online. I’m taking decades of my own work, thousands of videos, predictions, classes, interpretations, and methodologies and combining that with real astrological calculations so that people can interact with astrology in a completely new way. I’m also developing other AI products through my studios, including SpiritDial AI and Past Life Labs, as part of a much larger vision around spiritual intelligence and personalized AI experiences.

That is probably what I’m most excited about right now because I believe we are at another massive transition in media and technology. I felt that when YouTube first started changing television. I felt it again when apps and streaming started changing how people consumed content. AI is an even larger shift, and I want to be one of the people building what comes next rather than just watching it happen. My television studios have now become television and AI studios, and I’m taking everything I’ve learned about broadcasting, storytelling, astrology, audiences, software, and human behavior and bringing all of it together.

What I’m most proud of, though, is the fact that I’ve built all of this independently and continually reinvented myself when the world changed. I’ve gone from reality television to YouTube, from YouTube to apps, from apps to a streaming network, from a network to owning studios, and now from television studios into AI development. Every time the medium has changed, I’ve tried to move toward the future instead of holding onto what worked in the past. That hasn’t always been easy, and there have been plenty of failures, risks, setbacks, and times where I’ve had to rebuild, but I’m proud that I never stopped creating.

I’m also extremely proud of the body of astrology work I’ve created. There are thousands of hours of predictions, broadcasts, classes, readings, historical research, and teachings that now stretch across many years. I’ve watched people use that work to understand relationships, leave situations that were destroying them, change careers, understand major life transitions, reconnect with themselves, and sometimes completely rebuild their lives. That means more to me than any television appearance or title ever could.

What ultimately separates me is that I’m not trying to fit into one lane. I’m an astrologer, but I’m also a media producer, entrepreneur, technologist, DJ, author, teacher, and creator. I’ve spent my entire career combining worlds that people often think should remain separate. Ancient astrology and artificial intelligence. Spirituality and entertainment. History and prediction. Television and software. Music and consciousness. I think the most interesting things happen when those worlds collide.

And underneath all of it is the same mission I’ve had since I started doing those daily horoscopes: help people understand the time they are living in, understand themselves more clearly, and have the courage to build a life that is actually theirs. The technology keeps changing, the platforms keep changing, and the scale keeps getting bigger, but that part has never changed.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is illuminating the collective consciousness and helping people realize how much of what they are going through is not happening to them in isolation. One of the most powerful things astrology has taught me is that we are all moving through these larger cycles together. We may experience them differently because of our individual lives, our relationships, our choices, and our own charts, but there are moments when millions of people are feeling pressure, loss, transformation, uncertainty, awakening, fear, hope, or the need to completely change their lives at the same time. I think there is something incredibly important about helping people see that.

So much of modern life makes people feel like whatever they are experiencing is solely their own problem. If their relationship is changing, their career is falling apart, they feel lost, the world feels unstable, or they suddenly feel like the life they built no longer fits them, they can immediately assume something is wrong with them. What I try to do through my work is zoom the camera out. I want people to see the larger picture and understand that sometimes the entire collective is moving through a massive transition together. There is enormous comfort and power in realizing, “I’m not the only one feeling this. Something bigger is happening.”

That is really where astrology becomes much more than just personality descriptions or horoscopes to me. It becomes a language of timing and consciousness. It gives us a way to look at what humanity is moving through, compare it to previous historical cycles, and better understand why certain themes suddenly seem to appear everywhere at once. Relationships change at the same time. Governments change. Technology changes. Economies change. Belief systems collapse. New ideas emerge. People start questioning things they never questioned before. When you begin seeing those patterns, you stop looking at life as a collection of completely random events.

I think my job is to help illuminate that bigger picture without taking away anyone’s individual responsibility or free will. Astrology is not about telling people that everything is predetermined. For me, it is about awareness. If you can understand the weather you are walking through, you can make better choices about how you move through it. You can recognize when it is time to hold on, when it is time to let go, when something is being challenged because it needs to evolve, and when the discomfort you are feeling might actually be part of a much larger transformation.

What matters most to me is helping people feel less alone while also waking them up to how interconnected we really are. I think we forget that very easily. We divide ourselves by politics, beliefs, generations, identities, countries, and endless other categories, but underneath all of that, humanity goes through enormous experiences together. We all know love. We all know fear. We all know loss. We all know uncertainty. We all know what it feels like when life changes faster than we can understand it.

If my work can help somebody look at their own life and the world around them and suddenly see the pattern a little more clearly, that means everything to me. I want people to understand that they are part of something much larger than themselves and that the challenges of this time are not only individual struggles. We are collectively being asked to evolve.

That is what drives almost everything I create, whether it is astrology, television, education, or now artificial intelligence. I want to keep finding better ways to illuminate the collective consciousness, connect the dots between what is happening in the sky, in history, in society, and inside our personal lives, and help people realize that we are going through far more of this together than we think.
