Daily Inspiration: Meet CLAUDIA LOPEZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to CLAUDIA LOPEZ.

Hi CLAUDIA, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
WE STARTED OUR BUSINESS IN 2008 IN OUR FRONT YARD WE HAD LOST EVERYTHING, OUR JOBS AND OUR HOME DUE TO THE BAD ECONOMY, BUT GOD IS GOOD AND MY HUSBAND WENT BACK TO HES ROOTS WHEN WE MET SOME BEEKEEPERS AND MY HUSBAND HAD SOME KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE BEES DUE TO HES DAD IS A BEEKEEPER IN MEXICO, SO GOD LEAD US THROUGH OUR STUGGLE AND WE TRIED TO LEARN AS MUSH AS WE COULD TO OPEN OUR FIRST HONEY SHOP. AND THAT WHY WE NAMED IT JIREH HONEY SHOP BECAUSE THE WORD (JIREH) MEANS GOD IS OUR PROVIDER, WE STARTED ONLY WITH HONEY PRODUCTS AND FROM THERE WE GREW OUR KNOWLEDGE ON NATURAL REMEDYS, AND JUST GREW FROM THERE.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
SOME OF OUR STRUGGLES WAS THAT WE HAD 2 SICK KIDS 4 AND 5 YEAR OLDS THAT WE HAD TO CARE FOR AND IT WAS CHALLENGING HAVEING TO BE IN A SMALL GARAGE RENTAL AFTER LOSING OUR HOME, AND OF COURSE WE HAD NO MONEY TO INVEST OR CREDIT FOR A LOAN, WE ALSO HAD NO KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO HAVE A BUSINESS

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
MY HUSBAND DID CONSTRUCTION WORK AND I USE TO WORK AS A PHARMACY ASSISTANT FOR KAISER. I HAD JUST QUIT MY JOB BECAUSE LIKE I HAD SAID MY CHILDRED WHERE SICK, SO ME AND MY HUSBAND DECIDED FOR ME TO STAY HOME, BUT WHEN ECONOMY HIT EVEN CONSTRUCTION WORK HIT A TOLL, NO WORK. SO, WE WERE BARLEY ENDS MEET

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
THAT WE WOULD START OUR DAY ANT 5 AM 10 PM WAITING FOR OUR BUSINESS TO THRIVE WE DIDNT HAVE ANYONE TO HELP US AND SO I BOUGHT AND ELECTRIC POT AND ELECTRIC GRILL AND I WOULD COOK IN THE BACK. THERE WAS A LITTLE ROOM WHERE I HAD A SMALL TV AND A SMALL BED TO HAVE MY KIDS REST. AND ME AND MY HUSBAND WOULD TAKE TURNS TAKING THEM OUT TO THE PARK OR TO THE LIBRARY SO THEY WOUDLD NOT GET BORED
