Hi Destin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path into this work began with heartbreak I didn’t have the tools for. When I was sixteen, my girlfriend told me she had been raped by her previous boyfriend three months before we met. I was the first person she ever told. I loved her, and I watched her carry that trauma through our entire multi-year relationship, emotionally and physically. What it did to me was subtle and profound: I unconsciously absorbed the belief that men and male sexuality are dangerous, and I cut myself off from my own masculinity to make sure I could never become that. At eighteen, I made a vow that has shaped everything since: I would devote my life to creating a world where men wouldn’t dream of committing such atrocities.

For the next decade I rejected masculinity altogether. Then at twenty-eight I hit a wall. My relationship was falling apart, I was living near the poverty line, and I couldn’t shake the sense that I was meant to do something meaningful and wasn’t. I began to see those two forms of powerlessness as connected. So in 2007 I made a decision: I would stop rejecting masculinity and instead actively explore it, on my own terms. Screw what society said a man was supposed to be. I wanted to discover what it meant for me.

Out of that exploration I created an alter ego I called “The Erotic Rockstar,” and stepped into a seven-year crucible of transformation through my sexuality. The question driving it was the same one from my youth: how do I become a fully expressed sexual man while holding my integrity, causing no harm, staying in alignment with my values? I reinvented myself inch by inch, and in doing so went from being afraid of men to becoming a leader of men.

That path deepened in 2012 at the Kumbh Mela in India, where an experience during a satsang permanently reoriented me and marked my transition from provocateur to practitioner. I became a certified sexologist through the American Board of Sexology and a Certified Sexological Bodyworker, and founded The Evolved Masculine, a coaching practice for high-achieving men whose intimate lives haven’t caught up to their success everywhere else. I wrote a book by the same name that has reached about 10,000 readers, and built a body of work spanning private mentorship, my Sexual Self-Mastery digital training, and immersive experiences like the 100-Day Journey Into Erotic Embodiment.

Today I’m based in San Diego, raising my two children, and building my next chapter: Intima Studios, a conscious erotic media platform. After twenty years of working with men one at a time, I want to shift culture at scale. We live in a world saturated with sexual imagery and starved of sexual wisdom. I’m building media that closes that gap.

The eighteen-year-old who made that vow couldn’t have imagined this life. But every piece of it is in service of the same promise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth is the last word I’d use. The struggles have come in layers.

The first battle was internal. I spent my entire twenties at war with my own masculinity, convinced that to be a good man I had to reject being a man at all. Unlearning that took years of deliberate work, and there was no map. I had to build one.

Then there were the poverty years. At twenty-eight I was barely making rent, month after month, carrying a huge vision and no evidence I could fulfill it. Reinventing yourself is romantic in retrospect. In real time it meant risking every identity and relationship I had, with no guarantee anything would be waiting on the other side.

The deeper, ongoing struggle is the field itself. I chose to build a career at the intersection of sexuality and transformation, which means I’ve spent twenty years working in territory our culture is deeply conflicted about. Sexuality is the most censored, stigmatized, and misunderstood domain there is. Platforms restrict you. Payment systems flag you. People project onto you. I’ve had to learn to hold my work with enough clarity and integrity that the stigma bounces off, and to keep speaking openly about things most people only whisper about. Some days that costs real energy.

And there’s a struggle unique to this work: when your medium is sexuality and your mission is ending sexual harm, you live under a microscope. I welcome that scrutiny, because I believe men in this space should be held to the highest standard. But it means there’s no coasting. My life has to be the demonstration.

What I’ve learned from all of it is that the obstacles were the training. Every struggle became curriculum for the men I now serve.

The Evolved Masculine is a coaching practice and body of work for high-achieving men whose intimate lives haven’t caught up to their success everywhere else. My work holds a rare combination: explicit about sex, rigorous about integrity, and devoted to the idea that a man’s sexuality, treated with reverence and skill, makes him safer and more trustworthy, never less.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is what The Evolved Masculine stands for in a crowded and often cynical men’s work landscape: no shame, no bravado, no war between men and women. Just men becoming who they actually want to be.
