Today we’d like to introduce you to 2FAWNZ.

Hi 2FAWNZ, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been singing my whole life and making music since I was in my late teens. But working on music for 2FAWNZ has been my focus since 2022. I had just begun taking pole dancing classes for fun that year, and when I would take choreography classes, I would think “I can make music like this!”. I did my first 2FAWNZ session in July of 2022, and I haven’t looked back since! What started as wanting to branch out into a different style of music than what I had created before has now become my main creative outlet.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The music industry and the creative industry as a whole can be really tough to navigate. My biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you may hear a lot of nos or non-responses or get ghosted, but you don’t have to take it personally. When I first moved to LA from the Bay Area, I would internalize a lot and feel pretty negatively when sessions didn’t go well or when people didn’t respond to a message. But time and time again, I’ve seen that you will find your people once you start focusing intentionally on who you want to work with and what you want to work on. Hearing a “no” from someone may be the universe protecting you from something that’s not meant for you.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a dark pop artist, and I draw heavily from rock/metal influences like A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, and Korn. But I combine these elements with ethereal vocals and electronic elements to soften some of the harshness of the rock elements.

I write really intentionally–I think a lot of songwriting has become gimmicky and overly clever. Most things can be said/written simply, and I take that to heart with my songwriting. I’m more focused on communicating a feeling or an emotion rather than trying to come up with the wittiest thing that someone has ever sung.

I’m so proud of the music I’ve been working on recently! It feels really gratifying to explore different parts of my voice and write more personally than I have for some of my first releases. I can’t wait to share this next set of songs I’ve recorded, including my next single EVERYWHERE, that’s coming out in September!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My partner (Zevmadeit) is a musician and producer and has consistently helped me take my songs to a place I couldn’t have reached on my own. He studied composition in school and plays so many instruments and having his hands on my work has been so helpful.

He runs The Kitchen Studios LA, a recording studio on the Westside. And having a space to work at that is clean, well equipped, and air conditioned (!) has been vital to the making of my songs.

Along with that, I am so grateful to the women who I have collaborated with so far. Production and music in general is so male-dominated that I love getting to write and work on songs with other women in this industry. Special shout outs to Kayee, sydneyunicorns, Rora Wilde, Risi, and Victoria Ortega!
