Conversations with Cadillac Freeze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cadillac Freeze.

Hi Cadillac, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started producing and DJing as a young teen. Coming out of high school my friends and I started pressing CDs and Tapes and selling them at shows up and down the coast. In 2014 Snoop Dogg tweeted “Sticky Icky” a song of mine and featured it on his GGN network. Shortly after that I was featured in XXL magazine. After many meetings and negotiations with various record labels I decided to remain independent and preserve my art. I didn’t want to be confined to a box or rules I was having more fun creating on my own terms and made a lot more money without the middleman. The underground rules!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a constant uphill battle. Now more than ever with the amount of content accessible daily. We live in a world where instant gratification is king. I still believe in taking time and serving home cooked meals versus offering a microwaved experience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Music and visual art. From instrumental songs to funky hip hop. Stepping outside the norms of traditional rap. Promoting peace, and sweating your clothes out from dancing all night.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Do what feels right to you. It’s your life your path. Enjoy this shit
