Conversations with Simone Isiguzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Isiguzo.

Simone, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always done hair but never took it seriously until I had a mental psychosis in 2016. Upon leaving the hospital, I had absolutely no idea what to do with myself or how to make money. So I went to cosmetology school in 2018 and never looked back. Hair literally saved my life. Now I have a way of feeding myself and giving back to others around me

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was always bumping especially leaving cosmetology school. I had no idea what I wanted to specialize in or even where to start building my clientele.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Silk presses, cut and color. I’m most known for giving corrective haircuts that address hair damage. I’ve learned how to cut the hair with out leaving you completely bald.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Something I wish knew when I was starting out was to just do it all. I used to get into myself and lack confidence because I didn’t know something but a lot of time I forgot that where all the greats started. They didn’t of top know everything.
