Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Mortarotti.

Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur with a wellness focus and SUN LOVE Skincare is my latest endeavor. Whether it was creating the cleanest version of ice cream possible at Carmela Ice Cream or the infrared sauna studio business I started called HotBox, all of my businesses incorporate some sort of wellness element.

With SUN LOVE Skincare, I am setting out to change the conversation about what suncare really means and what it should encompass. Hint: It’s more than just sunscreen.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every time I start a new business there are new challenges – especially since I never seem to work in the same industry twice! Different products and different business models all create an opportunity to learn something new and require a lot of problem solving.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I sometimes joke that my entrepreneurial superpower is identifying niches in existing markets. With Carmela Ice Cream it was creating an artisan ice cream brand before those really existed. I actually got credited by KTLA for founding the artisan ice cream movement, which is really humbling!

With HotBox Infrared Sauna Studio it was creating a best-in-class fast casual sauna experience – seeing a need in the market for more easily accessible wellness amenities that didn’t require checking into a 5-star hotel or day spa.

And now, with SUN LOVE Skincare I am trying to change the way people approach their suncare by creating a wellness focused approach that works with the sun (and all its amazing health benefit), not against it.
