Daily Inspiration: Meet HAEINSANE

Today we’d like to introduce you to HAEINSANE.

Hi HAEINSANE, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a very musical family. My mom had a piano academy when we lived in South Korea, and she was actually my very first piano teacher. I grew up playing classical piano, and I also played cello pretty seriously.

When I was young, I had to move to Fiji because of my health, but I continued playing piano there, including at churches. Eventually, my whole family moved to New Zealand, where I went to high school that was well known for its symphony orchestra. At that point, I thought I was going to become a classical cellist.

But I always had this dream of moving to the United States and pursuing a career in music. Somehow, that dream eventually brought me to New Jersey in 2011. I attended a performing arts high school, and that was where I really started opening my ears to different styles of music—jazz, pop, R&B, and so much more. It completely expanded the way I thought about music.

Going to Berklee College of Music changed me in so many ways. I gained an incredible amount of knowledge, but more importantly, I met so many talented people who had the same passion and ambition that I did. Being surrounded by other musicians who were trying to build careers in the industry really inspired me.

Around that time, I also started posting more consistently on Instagram. One of my first videos took off through the Nord Keyboards channel, and that gave me a lot of exposure and opened some new doors. Then, in 2024, I got my first major tour with Karol G, which was a huge milestone for me. From there, things really started to build.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with artists like Loren Allred, RAYE, Tiana Major9, Audrey Nuna, Tyla, and Karol G. Since 2025, I’ve also been on the road with Zara Larsson, which has been an incredible experience.

At the same time, creating my own music has added another layer to my career. I’ve always loved being a musician and performing for other artists, but making my own music has given me a different way to express myself and explore my own sound. My first lo-fi track, “Adjust,” has now reached over 2 million streams, which is honestly something I’m really proud of. Seeing people connect with something that I created from the ground up has been incredibly rewarding.

When I look back, it’s kind of crazy to see how many different places and experiences have shaped my musical journey from growing up with classical music in South Korea, to Fiji and New Zealand, to New Jersey, Berklee, and now touring internationally. Each chapter has introduced me to a different side of music. Touring, working with other artists, creating my own music, and connecting with people online have all become different parts of my career, and together they’ve helped me become the musician and artist I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not an easy road. When I first graduated from Berklee, I took a lot of gigs that didn’t pay well or where I wasn’t always treated the best. At the time, I had this mindset of, “I’ll do anything if I can get the gig.” I just wanted the exposure, experience, and connections.

Looking back, some of those opportunities were definitely worth it, but I also learned that I didn’t have to take everything. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you really have to be smart about what you give your time and energy to. Your time is valuable, and not every opportunity is the right opportunity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a touring musician, producer, and lo-fi artist, and I’m really proud of how my career has grown across all three areas.

One of my biggest highlights was being part of Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito tour, traveling throughout South America and Europe in 2024. I’m also proud to have been part of Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun tour since 2025. We’ve been traveling all over Europe, and this fall and winter we’ll be heading to Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

I’m also really proud of my own project, Adjust, which recently reached over 2 million streams across all platforms. Being able to tour with major artists while also building something of my own as a producer and lo-fi artist is something I’m especially grateful for.
