Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Sutton.

Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up in a small town in Texas, I always had a love for fashion. Even though there weren’t many opportunities to explore that passion, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue. After graduating high school, I moved to Dallas to study Fashion Merchandising, excited to begin building a career around something I genuinely loved.

A week before my 20th birthday, my entire world changed when my mom passed away from breast cancer. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life and completely changed everything. Three months later, I took my first trip to Los Angeles. Looking back, that trip came at exactly the right time. It gave me hope, inspiration, and a fresh outlook when I needed it most. I remember standing in the city with this overwhelming feeling that one day I was going to live there. I had no idea when or how. It was simply a feeling I couldn’t shake.

When I returned to Texas, I decided to start over. I moved to Houston, found a new job, built a new circle of friends, and started selling vintage clothing on Depop. My love for thrifting, styling, and entrepreneurship really took off during that time, and working in retail only fueled that passion even more.

Two years later, I packed everything up and made the move to Los Angeles.

Since then, my career has taken me in directions I never could have imagined. I fell in love with music, bought my first DJ controller, and taught myself how to mix. I started introducing myself as a DJ long before I had my first gig. Some people might call that delusional. I call it believing in yourself before the rest of the world catches up. I think every entrepreneur, artist, or creative has to believe in a version of themselves that doesn’t exist yet. Sometimes you have to claim the dream before you’ve earned the proof.

There has been plenty of trial and error along the way, but one thing I’ve never done is give up. Every opportunity, every setback, and every pivot has taught me something valuable. Today, my career spans creative direction, marketing, content creation, DJing, and entrepreneurship. My friends always joke that I’m a “woman of many talents,” and I think that’s the best way to describe me. I love being able to blend all of my passions together instead of feeling like I have to choose just one.

Looking back, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is how important community is. Surrounding yourself with people who genuinely believe in you, celebrate your wins, and encourage your growth can change everything. My path hasn’t been linear, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m incredibly grateful for where I am today, and even more excited about where I’m headed. If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that anything is possible, not just in Los Angeles, but wherever you are, if you’re willing to bet on yourself before the rest of the world does.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. I think social media often makes it look like creative careers happen overnight, but the reality is that there’s been a lot of trial and error behind the scenes.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning to embrace uncertainty. When you’re building your own path, there isn’t a roadmap or a guarantee that things will work out. I’ve worn a lot of different hats over the years, and there were times when I questioned whether I was spreading myself too thin or not moving fast enough. Eventually, I realized that every experience was preparing me for the next one. Whether I’m creating content, DJing, working in marketing, or building my clothing brand, all of those creative outlets inspire one another and contribute to the bigger vision I’m creating.

I’ve also had to learn that rejection isn’t failure. Not every opportunity works out, not every pitch gets a response, and not every idea succeeds. Early on, I took those moments personally, but now I see them as part of the process. Every “no” has helped me grow, refine my approach, and prepare for the opportunities that were meant for me.

One thing I’ve realized is that everyone has their own timeline. It’s easy to compare yourself to other people, especially in a city like Los Angeles, but comparison only distracts you from your own path. I’ve learned to focus on becoming a little better every day and trust that the work I’m putting in will eventually pay off. At the end of the day, the only person I’m competing with is the person I was yesterday.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
These days, I create content, DJ, own a clothing brand called Kay 27, and I’m building my creative agency, 333 Agency.

What I’m most proud of is creating a career that feels authentic to who I am instead of feeling like I have to choose just one path. Every project challenges me in a different way, and I’ve found that each one makes me better at the others.

I think what sets me apart is my curiosity. If something inspires me, I want to learn it. I’m not afraid to be a beginner or step outside my comfort zone if it means growing creatively. That’s how I taught myself to DJ, started my clothing brand, and continue building businesses around the things I genuinely love.

Whether I’m designing pieces for my collection, creating content, or DJing an event, I just love creating. I don’t think I’ll ever stop finding new ways to express that creativity.
