Today we’d like to introduce you to Albert Magaña.
Hi Albert , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was introduced to set life at 13 when I worked as an actor on a Budweiser “Drink Responsibly” commercial. That experience sparked a real passion for the industry. I kept working as an actor, eventually becoming a SAG-AFTRA union member, and spent years learning the business from the front of the camera.
Wanting to understand the entire process, I enrolled in Saddleback College’s film program, where I studied producing and directing from start to finish. The combination of formal training and real on set experience helped me become well rounded, comfortable both in front of and behind the camera. Over time that led to key roles as First and Second Assistant Director, as well as Producer, on a number of projects.
Along the way I also developed a deep love for photography. What started as casually shooting friends and family turned into a genuine passion for visual storytelling capturing stills on set and while traveling. That dual interest in film and photography is what ultimately led me to launch A.M. Productions.
Today A.M. Productions specializes in video and photography for promotional, film, live event, corporate, product, advertising, and commercial work. We treat every client with the same level of professionalism and aim to make every shoot a memorable experience.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road and I don’t think it ever is in this industry. Everything worth doing takes time, hard work, and consistency. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
The film and photography world is extremely competitive. There are so many talented, hardworking people out there, so standing out and building a sustainable business takes real persistence. Early on I had to learn how to balance creative passion with the practical side of running a business finding clients, managing projects, and constantly improving my craft while still putting food on the table.
There were stretches where work was slow, times when I questioned whether I was on the right path, and moments when the pressure felt heavy. But those challenges taught me resilience and discipline. They also reminded me why I started in the first place: the love of storytelling and creating something meaningful for clients.
Looking back, the struggles were necessary. They shaped both me and A.M. Productions into what they are today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At A.M. Productions I focus on video and photography that helps clients tell their story with clarity and impact. We specialize in promotional videos, commercial and advertising work, corporate content, product photography, live event coverage, and film related projects. Whether it’s a brand campaign, a corporate video, or capturing an event, the goal is always the same: deliver polished, professional visuals that feel intentional and memorable.
I’m known for treating every project with the same level of care and professionalism, no matter the size. Clients often tell me they appreciate how collaborative and easy the process feels from the first conversation through final delivery. I bring both on set production experience and a photographer’s eye, so the work stays strong both in motion and still.
What I’m most proud of is building a business where clients trust us enough to come back and refer others. Seeing a finished production exactly the way the client envisioned or better is the most rewarding part of the work.
What sets A.M. Productions apart is the combination of real industry experience and a personal, client first approach. I’ve worked both in front of and behind the camera, which gives me a practical understanding of what it takes to get the shot and tell the story effectively. I don’t just show up and shoot, I listen, collaborate, and make sure the final product reflects the client’s vision while still elevating it. That mix of professionalism, creativity, and genuine care is what I try to bring to every project.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Consistency and follow through. Talent and passion matter, but showing up every day, treating every project with the same level of care, and delivering what you promised is what builds trust and keeps clients coming back. In this industry, reliability is what turns one time jobs into long term relationships.
