Today we’d like to introduce you to Ekaterini (Katie Kay) Koufalis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my story as a photographer trying to put herself through school and trying to figure out how to get through what I thought were the hardest points in my life. I grew up in a family of creatives, my father immersed himself in music as a singer in Greece and my mother and grandmother knew how to make pottery, needle art and design clothes. My grandmother used to make clothes in our village of Keffalonia.
From teaching myself photography i found myself in radio eventually opening my own media site and production firm. since then its been history
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It never was a smooth road I had alot of challenges being the underdog of the game. People did not want to give me opportunities because they thought I didnt fit in. I also experienced alot of loss from the death of three of my brothers and my best friend it took away from me and my goals. But we back and better than ever.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a communications professional with experience across media relations, broadcasting, public relations, photography, outreach, and content production.
What sets me apart from many of my peers is that I’m multifaceted. I didn’t begin my career following a traditional communications path—I actually started as a freelance nightlife photographer. That experience opened the door to so many different areas of media and communications and taught me how to connect with people, tell compelling stories, build relationships, and create opportunities.
Over the years, my career has evolved in directions that I’m extremely proud of. I’ve been able to combine my experience in photography, broadcasting, public relations, and media production to build my own platforms, including Rawrrzone Media and Katie Kay Photography.
I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to wear multiple hats while still understanding how each piece connects to a larger communications strategy. Whether I’m behind the camera, conducting an interview, developing a media campaign, coordinating outreach, or producing an event, I approach every project with the same goal: to tell a strong story, build meaningful connections, and create visibility.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I love entertainment so reading books from those I admire this year I have read Charlie Sheen’s book of Sheen book . Maurice Bernard theres nothing general about it. They give hidden gems that coincide with things we are doing.
