Hidden Gems: Meet Myiesha Majors of Majors4Homes, Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Myiesha Majors.

Hi Myiesha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My career has never followed a straight path—and looking back, I’m grateful for that.

I started in Credit Card Services with Sears Credit, where I learned the importance of customer service and problem-solving. After being laid off, I transitioned into Mortgage Servicing at Ameriquest, where I began assisting the Short Sale Department. I quickly found my passion for helping homeowners through difficult situations and was promoted to a Short Sale Specialist, and later to Specialty Disposition Specialist.

When I was laid off again, I joined JP Morgan Chase, helping homeowners navigate loan modifications during the housing crisis. At the time, many people referred to them as the “Obama modifications.” It was incredibly rewarding to help families stay in their homes during one of the most challenging financial periods in their lives.

Then came another layoff.

Instead of looking for another corporate position, I decided to bet on myself. I worked to earn my real estate license with one simple goal: to replace the income I had been making in corporate America. Within my first 12 months, I reached that goal—and I haven’t looked back.

Today, 12 years later, I’ve built a thriving real estate business serving clients throughout Southern California while also mentoring and developing new and struggling agents. My background in banking, mortgage servicing, short sales, and loan modifications gives me a unique perspective that allows me to guide clients through even the most complex transactions with confidence.

Every layoff felt devastating in the moment, but each one pushed me closer to the career I was truly meant to have. What once felt like setbacks became the foundation of the business and life I’ve built today. I’m grateful I had the courage to take the risk because it changed everything.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. My journey has been filled with pivots, challenges, and moments where I had to bet on myself long before anyone else did.

When I started my real estate career in 2014, I wasn’t just building a business—I was also becoming a first-time mom while learning how to balance being a wife, raising a family, and starting a career that offered no guaranteed paycheck. There were plenty of days when I questioned whether I was doing enough in any of those roles, but I kept showing up.

Even before real estate, my career in banking taught me resilience. I was constantly raising my hand for opportunities that others didn’t think I was qualified for. More than once, I accepted roles where I was asked to prove myself before receiving the salary that came with the position. I was willing to do the work first because I believed in my ability, even when others didn’t. There were people who questioned why I kept applying for new positions or whether I deserved those opportunities, but I refused to let someone else’s opinion define my potential.

That mindset carried over into real estate. This business has required me to reinvent myself more than once, adapt to changing markets, and continue learning and growing. Success didn’t happen overnight, and it certainly wasn’t easy.

Today, I look back and realize those challenges prepared me for everything I’m doing now. I’ve built a business that has helped hundreds of families make major moves, sold hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate, and created opportunities I never imagined possible. One of the greatest rewards has been being able to mentor and train other agents, helping them build businesses and confidence of their own.

I’ve learned that growth rarely comes from comfort. Every challenge I’ve faced has expanded what I believed was possible, and today I truly believe the sky is the limit.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the heart of my business is one simple belief: real estate is about people, and relationships, not just properties.

I’m a Realtor with eXp Realty serving clients throughout Southern California, but my role goes far beyond opening doors and writing contracts. I help buyers, sellers, investors, and families make informed decisions that build wealth and create opportunities for generations to come.

One of the things that sets me apart is my background. Before becoming a Realtor, I spent years in mortgage servicing, specializing in short sales, foreclosure prevention, and loan modifications. That experience gave me an understanding of lending, distressed properties, and complex transactions that many agents simply don’t have. Today, I use that knowledge to help my clients navigate challenges with confidence and strategy.

While I love serving my clients, I’m equally passionate about developing people. I mentor and train real estate agents, co-lead a growing community called The Collective, host educational events and masterminds, and create content that helps both consumers and agents make smarter decisions. My goal has always been to educate first and sell second because I believe informed people make the best decisions.

What I’m probably most proud of is the brand I’ve built. I want people to know me as someone they can trust—someone who leads with integrity, puts relationships before transactions, and genuinely cares about the people she serves. So much of my business has been built through referrals from past clients, friends, and fellow agents, and I don’t take that trust lightly.

Whether I’m helping a first-time buyer purchase their first home, guiding a family through a complicated sale, mentoring a new Realtor, or speaking to a room full of agents, my mission is always the same: to help people make major moves with confidence.

If there’s one thing I want readers to remember, it’s that success isn’t just measured by the number of homes I’ve sold or the volume of my business. It’s measured by the lives I’ve impacted, the relationships I’ve built, and the people who continue to trust me with some of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make. That’s the legacy I’m working to build.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Without a doubt, my family.

Watching my son grow into an incredible young man has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Being his mom has given me a different perspective on success. It’s no longer just about building a business—it’s about building a life that allows me to be present for the moments that matter most while showing him what hard work, integrity, and perseverance look like.

I also find so much fulfillment in serving others. Whether it’s helping a family buy their first home, guiding a seller through a major life transition, or mentoring a Realtor who’s trying to build a better future, I genuinely love being a resource that people can depend on.

I’ve always believed that my purpose is bigger than selling real estate. It’s about helping people navigate important seasons of their lives with confidence and knowing they have someone in their corner who truly cares.

At the end of the day, what makes me happiest isn’t recognition or awards—it’s knowing I’ve made a positive impact. If someone can look back and say, “She showed up for me when I needed her,” then I know I’ve done my job.
