Hi Joseph V, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Dead Energy started three years ago with a vision and a lot of work behind it. The journey has been crazy, difficult, and full of sacrifices, but the progress has made every late night and every hard decision worth it.

This isn’t just something I do it’s something I’ve devoted real time, energy, money, and pieces of myself to. The price of building something from nothing is real, but so is the feeling of seeing it grow.

Three years in, I’m still here, still pushing, and still building. And I’m nowhere near done.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nah, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There’s been a lot of struggle, especially trying to come into this community and make a spot for myself when there are so many of us fighting to make something of our own.

Sometimes it hurts when people think I’m here to take somebody else’s spot, when really, I’m just trying to build my own. There’s love and support, but there’s hate too. And honestly, when I start seeing that hate, that’s when I know I’m doing something right. I’m still here, still working, and still building.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Dead Energy is a one-man vision. I create everything from the music and production to the merch and visuals. I specialize in playing instruments, producing, mixing, and mastering, so the whole sound and identity comes directly from me.

I’m probably known most for my voice, cadence, and my look especially the shoes, lol. But what really sets me apart is the music. I blend genres that normally wouldn’t fit together and make them work as one sound. I’m focused on the right notes, frequencies, and feeling not just making music, but creating something people can feel and remember.

What I’m most proud of is the inspiration. Whether people love Dead Energy or not, I want other artists in my community to see it and feel pushed to create, take risks, and become something greater.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
think my luck comes from those last minute moments getting the call to perform at a beautiful, well known venue with barely any time to rehearse. I go all in anyway, because when that moment comes, it’s all on me. When talent buyers and promoters see that I can adapt under pressure, they know I’m not here to play.

The bad luck is having plenty of time to prepare, practicing over and over, and still falling short. But even those moments teach me something. I beat myself up, learn from it, and come back better. To me, that’s the real luck turning every opportunity and every failure into something that pushes Dead Energy forward.
