Meet Tiffany Corrada of Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Corrada.

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved myself from Orlando, Florida, to Glendale, California in the Summer of 2023. I had recently turned 30, and realized that the things I wanted to do for myself aren’t just going to “happen” for me without work. California has been a dream living location for me, and what bolstered my decision was the commitment to starting stand-up comedy. I realized while in Florida that I had always tried to find that “thing” or art that sparked creative and intentional purpose. I came upon stand-up specials, and for the first time in my life it seemed to dawn on me that stand-up is one of the truly most individual forms of art. I admire the raw, filterless aspect that allows each individual to truly show “themselves” instead of fitting to a particular style or mold.

I began comedy in February 2024 with an open mic at Flappers. From that moment on, I committed myself to open mics almost every night of the week, while constantly writing and studying joke form. I am happily still attending my favorite open mics every week and writing new material.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am an ex-agoraphobic for a period around 3 years, and diagnosed OCD with generalized anxiety. It has been a bumpy road. I also did not have professional stage experience prior to starting stand-up, so the entire experience has been the largest exposure therapy of my life. The easiest part is choosing to continue on, because the fulfillment of working on a chosen art is an unmatched feeling.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The work I am most known for locally is my stand-up comedy. I have performed at most of the major and minor venues in the Los Angeles area, as well as a few anime conventions. My material definitely leans on the nerdy side, because I am a nerd. I was also a writer and co-host of A News Show for 24 episodes, which you can find on YouTube.

I am proud to be a positive force in the comedy community, and I am pretty well-known for my purple hair.

How do you define success?
Success is making marked and recognized improvement.
