Hidden Gems: Meet Heather Bifulco of Tidy Style

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Bifulco.

Hi Heather, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Tidy Style started in 2017 during a time in my life when I was looking for a creative outlet and needed to get out of the house! I had been focused on raising my two young children but when my youngest started preschool, I realized I had something that I hadn’t had in quite awhile…time!

I went to college at MSU in Montana for graphic design and was really excited about building a business. In those early days, I wasn’t thinking of the long term plan or of scaling. Honestly, I was most excited about creating a logo and a brand. I still have the notepad where I was brainstorming names, colors for the logo and even the initial website layout.

As for what type of business I was going to start, there was only one answer! I’ve always been drawn to organization. Friends and family were often asking for help with their closets and other random organizing projects, and I began to realize that creating order wasn’t just something I enjoyed, it was something that genuinely improved people’s lives. I know for myself that I recognized early on that life is going to throw you challenges and much of it is out of your control but if your home is a tidy place of peace then you are so much better equipped to handle whatever life will send your way.

I didn’t start Tidy Style with a formal business plan or a vision of building a large company. I simply started helping people. Those first projects led to referrals, which led to more referrals, and before long the business began growing faster than I ever anticipated.

As the business grew, another purpose emerged. I realized there were so many talented women, especially mothers, who wanted meaningful work but struggled to find jobs that fit their lives. Many of the opportunities available to women re-entering the workforce after staying home with their children were in retail or positions that required nights, weekends, and long hours away from family. Others simply didn’t pay enough to justify the cost and logistics of leaving home.

I wanted Tidy Style to be an option for women that made the choice to stay home with their kids but were now ready to engage in work outside the home.

One of the things I’m most proud of today is that Tidy Style has become a place where women can do fulfilling work while still being present for the moments that matter most. We work hard to provide flexibility for our team, and whenever possible, we never want a mom to miss a school performance, sporting event, field trip, or important family milestone because of work. Family comes first, and we’ve built our culture around that belief.

As demand increased, I carefully built a team of people who shared my passion for serving clients with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Today, Tidy Style has grown into a team of more than 20 organizers serving communities throughout Idaho. We also travel to wherever our clients need us. Our team has flown to LA for a handful of jobs and we love when we get the opportunity to bring our signature brand of home organization to areas outside of Idaho. We’ve expanded beyond traditional home organizing to offer packing, unpacking, move management, and concierge moving services that help clients through some of life’s biggest transitions.

One of the most rewarding parts of this work is that we’re rarely just organizing things. We’re helping people navigate change. Sometimes it’s a growing family, a major move, a downsizing decision, a new chapter, or simply a home that no longer feels manageable. We get a front-row seat to those moments, and it’s incredibly meaningful to be trusted during such personal transitions. We have unpacked and organized many California families who have relocated to Boise and it’s surrounding communities.

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much has changed since those early days. What began as a passion project and a leap of faith has grown into a thriving company with an incredible team and thousands of completed projects. But at its core, the mission remains exactly the same as it was in 2017, to help people create spaces that bring more peace, simplicity, and joy to their everyday lives, while creating meaningful opportunities for women to thrive both professionally and personally.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, although I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs.

One of the biggest challenges was learning how to transition from being good at the work itself to leading a team. Organizing a home came naturally to me. Building systems, hiring, training, managing people, and creating a sustainable business were all entirely new skill sets that I had to learn along the way. I literally cried the first time I opened QuickBooks!

Another challenge has been balancing growth with maintaining the quality and culture that made the business successful in the first place. When you’re a small business built largely on referrals, every client experience matters. As we’ve grown, I’ve worked hard to make sure every client still receives the same level of care and attention that they would have received when I was completing every project myself.

There have also been the normal growing pains that come with running a service-based business. No two projects are alike, and sometimes we walk into situations that are far more complex than anyone anticipated. Learning how to accurately estimate projects, communicate expectations, and adapt when things don’t go according to plan has been an ongoing process.

On a personal level, balancing entrepreneurship and motherhood isn’t easy. Looking back, I feel like when everything was going well at work, something was suffering at home and vice versa…maybe that’s what balance is? More of a teeter totter going up and down rather than ever being in a true state of equality? I don’t have the answers..I’m not a guru. I’m just a middle aged mom out here trying to love and support my kids while also trying to love and support my business and my team.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Tidy Style is a professional organizing and move management company based in Idaho, but our mission goes far beyond creating beautiful spaces.

We help busy families create homes that function better, feel calmer, and support the way they actually live. Our services include home organizing, packing, unpacking, and concierge moving services. Whether a client needs help organizing a pantry, preparing for a major move, settling into a new home, or creating systems that make everyday life easier, our goal is always the same: to reduce stress and create solutions that are both beautiful and sustainable.

What sets us apart is that we don’t believe organization is one-size-fits-all. We aren’t interested in creating spaces that look perfect for social media but are impossible to maintain in real life. We want our clients to have systems that continue working long after we’ve left.

We’re also unique in the level of support we provide during moves. Our concierge move service allows clients to hand over the entire process, from packing and coordinating logistics to unpacking and setting up their new home. Moving is consistently ranked as one of life’s most stressful experiences, and helping families navigate that transition has become one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Today, Tidy Style serves clients throughout Idaho, including the Treasure Valley, McCall, Sun Valley, and Idaho Falls. We also occasionally work with out-of-state clients and have completed projects in places such as California.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of isn’t the growth, the social media following, or even the number of projects we’ve completed. What I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve earned. Our clients invite us into some of the most personal spaces and seasons of their lives, and we never take that responsibility lightly. Many of our new clients come from referrals, which tells me we’re delivering an experience people genuinely value.

I’m equally proud of the team we’ve built. Tidy Style was founded with the belief that women shouldn’t have to choose between meaningful work and being present for their families. We’ve created a culture that values flexibility, professionalism, compassion, and teamwork, and that culture is reflected in every project we complete.

If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know about our brand, it’s that we’re not simply organizing homes, we’re helping people create space for what matters most. When a home functions well, families experience less stress, more peace, and more time to focus on the people and activities they love. That’s the impact we’re striving to make every day.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Mentors don’t always look like you would expect. My advice is to approach life with curiosity and a genuine desire to get to know people. Some of the best advice I have recieved has been from people working in entirely different industries. Don’t underestimate the power of simply showing up. I am somewhat of an introvert naturally, but I push myself to get out there and take the pressure off by telling myself, I am looking to connect in an authentic way with just one person.
