Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Quiriconi.
Hi Sara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up on the East Coast and originally built a career in the wellness and entrepreneurial space before realizing that storytelling was the thing I was continually being pulled toward. I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior, resilience, and the ways people transform through adversity, which naturally led me to acting.
After overcoming Hodgkin’s lymphoma in my early twenties, I developed a much deeper appreciation for taking risks and pursuing the things that genuinely matter. That experience shaped the way I approach both life and the characters I play. Eventually, I made the decision to fully commit to the craft, training at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio and immersing myself in film and television.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of independent films, streaming projects, commercials, and festival-bound productions, playing women who are often emotionally complex, strong, vulnerable, and navigating significant personal transformation. In addition to acting, I write and develop original film and television projects through my production company, Live Free Media, with a focus on female-driven stories that explore identity, resilience, and emotional truth.
Today, I’m continuing to build my career as an actress while developing original content, and I feel incredibly grateful to be doing work that combines creativity, storytelling, and meaningful human connection. The journey hasn’t been traditional, but I think that’s what gives me a unique perspective as both an artist and a person.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think those experiences have ultimately made me a stronger actor.
I came to acting later than many people in the industry. Before pursuing it professionally, I built a career in the wellness and entrepreneurial world, which gave me a wealth of life experience but also meant taking a leap into a completely different field. Starting over as an artist requires a lot of humility, patience, and belief in yourself, especially when you’re surrounded by people who have been doing it since childhood.
There have also been significant personal challenges along the way. As a young adult, I overcame Hodgkin’s lymphoma, an experience that fundamentally changed my perspective on life and taught me not to postpone the things that matter most. Like many people, I’ve also navigated major life transitions, moments of reinvention, and periods where I had to choose growth over comfort.
In acting, rejection is part of the process, and learning to separate your worth from the outcome of an audition is a lesson that never really ends. But every challenge has given me something valuable to bring to my work. The setbacks, the uncertainty, the resilience required to start again—they’ve all deepened my understanding of people and made me more empathetic as both an actor and a storyteller.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change the path. It may have taken longer, but I think the experiences I’ve lived have given me a depth and perspective that I can now bring to every role.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actress, writer, and producer, though acting is at the center of everything I do. I specialize in emotionally layered, character-driven stories and am often drawn to women who appear strong on the surface but are navigating profound internal conflicts. I love exploring the complexities of identity, resilience, transformation, and what people are willing to do in pursuit of love, freedom, or self-discovery.
As an actress, I’m known for bringing a grounded intensity and emotional authenticity to my work. Many of the characters I’m drawn to are intelligent, ambitious, and resilient, yet deeply human. I’m particularly interested in prestige television, psychological dramas, thrillers, and elevated character-driven projects that allow audiences to connect with the emotional truth of a story.
What I’m most proud of isn’t any one role or credit—it’s having the courage to fully commit to this path and continue building a career rooted in meaningful storytelling. Every project, class, audition, and opportunity has been part of a larger journey of growth, both personally and professionally.
I think what sets me apart is the combination of life experience I bring to the work. I’ve lived through significant challenges, career transitions, and personal reinventions, which gives me a deep well to draw from as an actor. I didn’t arrive at storytelling through a traditional route, and I see that as a strength. It allows me to approach characters with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine understanding that people are rarely just one thing.
Ultimately, my goal is to tell stories that make people feel seen, spark meaningful conversations, and remind audiences of the resilience and complexity that exist within all of us.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely. No one builds a career alone, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have supported me throughout this journey.
First and foremost, my husband has been one of my greatest supporters. Pursuing a creative career takes faith, resilience, and often a willingness to step into uncertainty, and having someone who believes in you through the highs and lows makes an enormous difference. His encouragement has helped me continue pursuing this path even during challenging seasons.
My parents also deserve a tremendous amount of credit. They instilled in me a strong work ethic, perseverance, and the belief that anything worthwhile requires commitment and effort. Those lessons have carried me through every chapter of my life and continue to guide me today.
I’m also deeply grateful to the teachers, coaches, and mentors who have invested in my growth as an artist. My training at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, particularly studying under Claire Chubbuck, has been incredibly influential in helping me develop both my craft and confidence as an actor. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from talented directors, acting teachers, casting professionals, and fellow actors who have challenged me to keep growing and stretching beyond what I thought was possible.
I also have amazing friends and colleagues who have been cheerleaders throughout the process. The entertainment industry can be unpredictable, and having people in your corner who celebrate your wins, encourage you through setbacks, and remind you why you started is invaluable.
Ultimately, every person who has believed in me, offered guidance, shared wisdom, or opened a door has played a role in my journey. Acting may be an individual pursuit in many ways, but success is always built on the support, generosity, and encouragement of a community.
