Daily Inspiration: Meet Anthony Clark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Clark.

Hi Anthony, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story began in the streets of Atlanta Ga, where I was born and raised. I started out hustling in the treacherous streets of Zone 6 in the Edgewood and Kirkwood communities. Seeing my mother struggling and working two and three jobs just to provide for my brothers and I had a huge impact on who I am today and my thought process of wanting to become a successful business man and start my own business, so that my kids and extended family members could thrive in life, and I could also transfer generational wealth.

Being raised in a single-family home by my loving mother Brenda Clark, had a huge impact on my choices and decisions to run in the deadly streets of Atlanta. A lot of my choices and decisions broke me, bruised me, confused me and ultimately, I ended up in prison doing a bid. However, while serving time in prison I was able to use narrative therapy to help me heal from some past traumas that had negatively impacted my life. One day while I was in the hole for fighting, I began reading some of the writings that I had written, and I decided at that moment to really take my publishing company serios and publish my writings once I got out, I also prayed that God would allow my film production company to thrive as well so that I could produce more great movies and TV shows, and God answered my prayers.

I thank God, who is the source of all things for taking me through those trials and tribulations in order for me to have a testimony to share with others, and my prayer is that God continues to use me so that I can encourage others to not make the same bad choices that I made.

Today after making the decisions that helped to shape and mold who I am today, I have been afforded the opportunity to be a great father, brother, son, soon to be husband and friend. I am also a successful business owner. I have written and published nine books, I have produced eight films to date and counting, so God has allowed me to turn what seemed to be bad choices into positive out puts and good outcomes when I decided to get out of my own way and allow him to take the lead.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it has not been a smooth road especially in the beginning. I say that because I had no clue that God would take me down A road like this of being a story teller in both literally and visual capacity. However, once I aligned with God’s plan for my life, that’s when things begin to become a bit more effortless. Once I got out of the driver’s seat and let God take the wheel things became more clear and comfortable because I began to rest in the knowing that God is in control. Unfortunately up until I learned to do that I encountered many obstacles and challenges such as lack of funding, not having the right team in place, imposter syndrome, gate keeping from individuals, and many other trials and tribulations that were trying to get me off of the path that God wanted me on, so to those of you reading this I would strongly suggest that you get in alignment with God when it comes to your purpose in life so that the road is not so rocky.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was exploring the city of Atlanta while riding my bike with my brothers Emmanuel, Brian and Charles. My good friend Daylon would also explore the city with us. We rode our bikes from the East to the West side of Atlanta, it was fun and I learned a lot. We were able to cultivate good relationships with people all around the city, and that helped my brothers and I navigate life in the City of Atlanta better in our adulthood. As a kid, exploring the city and roots of Atlanta and its rich culture that a lot of civil rights activist laid the foundation for, sparked something inside of me. That voyage and experience helped my imagination to run wild and expand. I have a lot more memories about my childhood but my expeditions around the city with my brothers had the most impact on me.
