Daily Inspiration: Meet Suzanne Toro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Toro.

Hi Suzanne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always had a passion for helping others and living in well being. I had a lot of immune imbalances as a child and into adulthood rooted from being part of a generation raised in autonomy, traumatic interludes with a tenacity for overcoming all things that kept us down. All of which has me holding a deep knowing that ‘All is Possible’.

After graduating with from the College of Architecture in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design from Arizona State University, I became passionate about learning how to master healing and balancing myself through mental, emotional, physical and spiritual practices. All of which lead to me studying many modalities and integrating what I already applied while training as a swimmer, runner and yogi. Through this journey my goal was to no longer be dependent on anything daily (medications, herbs and/or supplements) and regenerate my entire system where there were imbalances. During this process, I faced additional traumas and loss. These life moments, ulitmately, lead me to helping myself and prepared me to help others.

In 2005, I started to fully direct my career path towards setting up my holistic wellness practice which supports individuals in birth, life and death transitions. With a primary focus on balancing their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies. This is the foundation I built my methodology and approach on to help others find their natural rhythm and balance. Ultimately, returning their entire being to their natural state…CALM.

The modalities that are integrated into my work are Sound + Electromagnetic Therpay, the entire System of Yoga, Ayurveda (Food + Plant + Body Therapies), Traditional Chinese Medicine (Food, Herbal, Teas + Pyscho-Spritual Therapy), Herbalism, Color Therapy, Dream Therapy and natures path (carried from Hopi, First Nations, Tibet, the Amazon, Guatemala, Central America, Hawaii, and many parts of Asia (India and the Island Nations)). All of which help inform what I receive from my practices and are woven uniquely together to support each client, group and/or students with specific protocals unique to their entire being.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When, I wrote my book, Bare Naked Bliss…loving from within, I was ready to serve the world with a grand vision. Yet, right after I was ready to launch my book, I was called forward by the elders that had been training and communicating with me in my dreaming practices. This has been a constant since I was a small child. In that moment, I felt like I was being pushed off a cliff and there was no other choice then to follow the call to Hopi Nation. Which required me to JUMP. This was a huge blessing and a perceptual obstacle because my entire world was about to drastically change. It was a consistent process of surrender and building simultaneously. When, I think back to the road to here, I am proud of how I navigated the terrain. My inner code of ethics became clearer and clearer. My gaze softened and my will to learn and serve grew in ways I cannot fully articulate. As most will attest and I agree, these obstacles were all a blessing, an invitation and an opportunity.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

My global workshops and retreats engage diverse audiences, from corporate executives to remote jungle communities, teaching communication, well-being, and interdependence through holistic modalities. In her private practice, OmToro Wellness & Retreat, I weave nature, sound therapy, psycho-spiritual counseling, food, and dreaming yoga to guide clients through birth, life, and death transitions, unlocking their subconscious minds and biofields to release karmic patterns.

My lifelong practice of dreaming yoga and sound therapy, sparked by childhood visions, offers profound tools for spiritual growth. At the Sedona Yoga Festival, I lead my Art of Dreaming + Living Workshop that blended ancient Tibetan Dreaming Yoga, Hopi, and Mayan practices with guided dream meditations and sound baths, harnessing mother earth’s sacred energy to empower participants to connect with their subconscious wisdom and thrive in this era of global transformation. The flow of this workshop was inspired by my work with Hopi Leaders, Tibetan Rinpoches, Mayan high priests, and Shipibo healers.

What I am most proud of is my willingness to continue to refine my skills, learn, listen and serve with a humble and sincere heart. I can only speak of how I show up and that is with authenticity, love and compassion in my heart and way of being.
