Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dimitrios Adamakis

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dimitrios Adamakis. Check out our conversation below.

Dimitrios, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I usually wake up and make a pot of drip coffee, have some, black always, jump in the shower, come out drink some more coffee and get ready for work.
*If I’m working out I make some high protein pancakes before the gym.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dimitrios Adamakis.
I’m originally from Alexandroupolis, Greece, and I’ve lived in Athens, Glasgow, and Dubai before landing in Manhattan and now Los Angeles.
Those chapters really shaped how I see people and relationships, which is why I’m drawn to stories about ambition, identity, and reinvention.
Lately I’ve been developing original monologues and stepping into live comedy, which has pushed me to take even bolder risks in my work.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to leave where I was from to become someone bigger, that success only existed somewhere else. Growing up in Alexandroupolis, I felt like the world was happening far away. I don’t believe that anymore. I’ve learned that who you become isn’t about escaping where you’re from, it’s about integrating it. Every city I’ve lived in added something to my personal culture, but my foundation is still that kid from Greece. Now I see it as strength, not limitation.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Is there A time ? Hahaha I think every 1-2 months I feel like giving up, but then my delusional confidence in me, believes that “I need to be seen” literally as in front of casting directors and metaphorically because I am a character, I have a story, because I’ve lived intensely. You will most likely like me, but if you are in the minority you will hate me, either or you will remember me.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is part of who I am, but not all of me. It’s the side I’ve honed to connect, communicate, and resonate with others. Off camera, there are more hues , curiosity, and quiet, but the core, my humor, intensity, and perspective, stays the same

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope [ (when I make it) delusional ], people will remember me as someone who took risks, stayed bold, and kept my curiosity alive, bringing honesty, style, and humor into everything I do, and that my story can help other artists and individuals feel seen, inspired, and confident there is room for voices like ours in this industry.
