Story & Lesson Highlights with Dani Felt of LA

We recently had the chance to connect with Dani Felt and have shared our conversation below.

Dani, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Who are you learning from right now?
I am learning a lot from Sebastian Rivera. He is teaching me about sales, customer service, and when to walk away from clients who cannot afford your services. He is also teaching me a great deal about social media strategy, including how to use content pillars and the importance of planning content in advance.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Dani Felt. I am an author, publicist, singer, and CEO of a marketing network called Music Industry Mastery. I help connect artists with service providers, similar to Fiverr, but personally run and focused on world-class, premium services.

I recently published a book called Becoming Unstoppable: The Playbook for Creatives and Entrepreneurs. It is an inspiring, heartwarming, and refreshingly honest guide for anyone ready to step into their next level. Blending personal stories from my journey as a music marketing CEO and artist with practical wisdom, this book offers powerful lessons learned the hard way so that creatives and entrepreneurs do not have to.

Becoming Unstoppable focuses on themes such as self-love, building your community, letting go of old patterns and habits, rebuilding your relationship with money, getting clear on what you want, creating a plan, and much more. It is designed for artists and entrepreneurs who want to build the most powerful version of themselves, overcome self-sabotage, and truly become unstoppable.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The moment that shaped how I see the world was when my parents called me down from my room in middle school or high school, I forget exactly, to watch a movie called The Secret. Up until that point, I had played the victim, complaining to my family about being bullied and how unfair life was. Once I saw that movie, I became more aware of my thoughts and the words I spoke out loud. I started being intentional with my language and realized that I could shape my own reality. I could stop focusing on what I did not want, like being bullied, and start taking my power back. That moment changed my life. From then on, I dove deep into the world of manifestation, meditation, chakras, reiki, gratitude journaling, vision boards, and much more.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power when I discovered writing poetry, shortly after I began writing lyrics. Music saved my life. Being a songwriter helped me get through the toughest times in middle school and high school. At fourteen, I attended a music camp where I got to go into the studio, put melodies to my lyrics, and record music. That summer changed my life.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is the ability to help others. Whether it is being positive, inspiring them, connecting them with someone who can help their career, giving friendly advice, or just telling a funny story, they would say I genuinely care about people. They would say I care about their success and that I help them feel empowered to take action on their dreams without getting in their own way.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
I feel this way especially now after recently releasing my book Becoming Unstoppable: The Playbook for Creatives and Entrepreneurs. I attended a Tony Robbins group watch party and could not stop talking about my book to everyone there. I even sold a copy on the spot! Someone saw the cover and purchased it immediately. I’ve been reading sections of my book to my Lyft drivers, asking them to choose a topic that inspires them most. I’ve been texting friends and everyone I’ve ever met about the book. I feel like this is my next move. This book will change lives, and anyone who reads it will be impacted in the best way. I haven’t felt this excited in a long time!
