Meet Kavion Griffith of KG Superstar in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kavion Griffith.

Kavion, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started as a kid in Barbados with my mom attracted to calypso music from the moment I knew what I was hearing. She always loved music and always played it around the house. I then moved to Brooklyn with my dad right when hip-hop started. I was instantly affected by the sound. He was also into music and constantly exposed me to the various genres of music.

As a kid, I started doing the announcements at school and that was the beginning of my love for sharing my voice. As I grew, I was immersed in the hip-hop scene with many great artists and talents and through those combinations, I felt myself naturally falling into the flow of MC’ing.

When I moved to LA, I noticed there was a void in the experience of events, music scenes and nightclub scenes. They were missing love. I decided that I would deliver that energy. I began branding myself as “The voice of a great time.” That great time went past just going out to be seen and spending money to impress. It was about enjoying the moment, expressing one’s soul and experiencing music with your heart and not just your ears.

These years of spreading that love have opened the doors for me to travel the world sharing through MC’ing. I’m now also working on creating my own music that I plan to affect the whole world with. I want to spread love beyond the known boundaries.

Has it been a smooth road?
Knowing that you can do something and express it to the people that can affect it and push it forward but then not really seeing what you see. People are programmed to believe they already have what they need and can define it. Trying to be the person that comes and tells them something different and has to convince them it’s exactly what they need.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with KG Superstar – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am an MC. The voice of a great time. I specialize in spreading love through my voice. I’m proud of the brand I built that when people see me coming, they know love will be in the room.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the sun and the diversity.

I dislike the natural disasters that tear people’s lives apart. (IE: The fire)
