Hannah Altman of Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Hannah Altman. Check out our conversation below.

Hannah, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
My days vary a lot depending on what I’m working on, and they almost always start with coffee, my quiet moment before everything gets moving. Some days I’m traveling and on set producing a TV show, jumping between locations and managing long shoot days. Other days I’m back in LA, attending events, networking, and planning upcoming projects. And when I’m not on the move, I’m working on projects behind the scenes. Everything from catching up on emails, organizing schedules, and staying creative. It’s a fast-paced lifestyle, but I love the energy, the challenge, and the variety it brings.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely! I’m Hannah, a Los Angeles based producer working across unscripted, documentary, and paranormal television. I’ve contributed to series for major networks and streaming platforms, and my background spans creative development, research, writing, story producing, and field support. I’m passionate about authentic, story-driven work, and I love the collaborative process of shaping real stories into compelling visual narratives.

Outside of traditional television, I’m the creator of The Paranormal Lounge, a cinematic digital brand that explores haunted locations, history, and paranormal storytelling. It’s a space where curiosity meets creativity, blending beautiful visuals with real-world mystery and experiences that people often don’t get to talk about openly. The project has grown into a community for people who are fascinated by haunted places and the unknown, and I’m currently focused on expanding it through new series, partnerships, and immersive experiences.

Across everything I do (whether I’m on set, traveling on location, or producing content behind the scenes) I’m driven by a love of storytelling, curiosity, and the challenge of making something meaningful and memorable.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a curious kid obsessed with stories, history, and anything mysterious. I spent hours exploring old buildings, reading ghost stories, and trying to understand the world beyond the surface. I wasn’t afraid to ask questions or to believe in things people couldn’t explain. Somewhere along the way, I learned to fit into more traditional expectations, but I eventually found my way back to that curious, imaginative version of myself. In many ways, what I do now is just a grown-up version of who I always was: someone fascinated by real stories, human connection, and the magic that exists in the unknown.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there have definitely been moments when I felt like giving up. Working in production can be unpredictable, competitive, and exhausting, especially when you’re building something from the ground up. There was a point when I was juggling long shoot days, unstable schedules, and constant uncertainty, and I wondered if I was really going to make it in this industry or if I was just chasing something unrealistic.

What kept me going was remembering why I started: because I love storytelling, and because I believe in creating work that means something. Launching The Paranormal Lounge became a turning point. It reminded me that I didn’t have to wait for permission or the perfect opportunity, I could build my own space, tell the stories I cared about, and connect directly with people who felt the same.

Every time I look back on that moment, I’m grateful I didn’t walk away. The challenges didn’t disappear, but they gave me clarity and resilience. Now, whenever things get tough, I remind myself that the hardest seasons often lead to the most meaningful growth.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that what matters most to me is connection. Real, honest, meaningful connection with people and the world around me. They’d probably say that I care deeply about storytelling, authenticity, and creating space for others to feel seen and heard. I’m someone who values curiosity and isn’t afraid to explore the deeper layers of things, whether that’s history, human emotion, or the paranormal. And they’d definitely say I’m passionate and driven. Once I believe in something, I’m all in. At the end of the day, the people I love, the stories we share, and the impact we leave behind are what mean the most to me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m somewhere quiet and surrounded by history or nature. Those spaces where time feels slower and the world isn’t demanding anything from you. Whether it’s exploring an old building, walking through a place with a story, or just standing still in a moment that feels bigger than me, there’s something grounding about it. I love the calm that comes from stepping away from the noise and really listening. To the environment, to my intuition, and sometimes even to the silence itself. Those moments remind me why I do what I do, and they bring me back to center.
