Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Carbajal Garcia Jr.
Hi Eduardo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Heirarchy Designs about two years ago. Honestly, it all began with curiosity and a desire to create something of my own. I started watching YouTube videos about T-shirt making seeing people turn blank shirts into bold, creative designs really caught my attention. Before I knew it, I was deep into learning the craft, step by step.
I decided to invest in a vinyl cutter and began experimenting on my own. At first, it was a lot of trial and error and I’ll admit, I made some bad investments in equipment that didn’t work out the way I hoped. But every mistake became a lesson. It wasn’t easy, but that’s part of the journey when you’re building something from the ground up.
My passion and most importantly my family is what kept me going to create and build something meaningful. There were definitely times when I questioned if it was worth it, but I knew I wanted more than just a hobby I wanted to turn this into a business.
I started reaching out to other entrepreneurs in the same field, and that changed everything. Many of them were kind enough to share advice and help point me in the right direction. That community support helped me refocus, make smarter decisions, and keep pushing forward.
And now with gods blessing It’s grown more than I could have imagined when I started. And I do all of this from home this has turned into a business that now works with local schools and businesses like Pro-Chem. Being able to collaborate with people in my community and see my work out there whether it’s a school team, an event, or a local company is an incredible feeling. It’s a reminder that hard work really does pay off.
My goal now is to keep growing not just in size, but in creativity and quality. I want to continue building strong relationships with schools, teams, and local businesses while also expanding into new areas.
Heirarchy Designs started as a dream and a few YouTube videos, and now it’s become something I’m truly proud of. Every shirt we make carries a piece of that journey the long nights, the lessons learned, and the belief that with hard work and faith, you can build something great from the ground up.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Having a full time job and pushing my business to grow, this journey hasn’t been easy, I faced a lot of trial and error from buying the wrong equipment and wasting materials to struggling with designs that didn’t come out the way I envisioned. There were moments of frustration when I questioned if I was really cut out for this. On top of that, balancing the business side marketing, pricing, and customer relationships was a learning curve all on its own. But each setback pushed me to learn more, stay patient, and keep improving. I reached out to other small business owners for advice, watched countless tutorials, and slowly turned my mistakes into lessons. Those early challenges taught me persistence, humility, and the importance of community.
Over time I learned to turn every obstacle into motivation. I started researching more, investing in better equipment, and refining my craft until I felt confident in the quality of my work. I also learned the power of networking connecting with other entrepreneurs in the same industry who were willing to share advice and guidance. Their encouragement helped me see that growth takes time and patience. As my skills improved, so did my confidence, and eventually, doors began to open. I started working with local schools and businesses like Pro-Chem, which gave me the opportunity to showcase my designs to a wider audience. Every mistake, every late night, and every setback played a part in helping me build something real. Those early struggles became the foundation for Heirarchy Designs a reminder that success doesn’t happen overnight, but with faith, perseverance, and passion, it’s always possible.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Outside of Heirarchy Designs, I work full-time for a small company that makes picture frames. It’s a hands-on job that requires focus and attention to detail, After a full day at my job, I head home and switch gears to work on my T-shirt business. There are definitely long nights and early mornings, but I’ve learned to enjoy the grind because it’s all part of building something I believe in. Working both jobs has taught me discipline, time management, and the importance of consistency. It’s not always easy balancing the two, but every design I finish and every satisfied customer reminds me why I keep pushing forward.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned through this journey is the importance of patience. In the beginning, I wanted everything to happen fast more sales, more clients, and instant growth. But over time, I realized that rushing the process can lead to mistakes and burnout. I’ve learned to slow down and focus on delivering quality over quantity. Taking the time to get every detail right not only improves my work but also builds trust with my customers. When people see the care and effort I put into each design, they come back and that’s the most rewarding part. Patience has taught me that real growth takes time, and that consistency and craftsmanship will always speak louder than speed.
