Prince Baggett of North Hollywood on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Prince Baggett shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Prince, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings start very early—typically around 4:00 a.m.—because I value the peace and focus that time of day offers. I begin with a shower and take a multivitamin along with an energy drink to set the tone for the day. From there, I prep for the gym and dedicate time to an intentional workout. This early routine clears my mind, energizes my body, and ensures I start the day grounded and productive.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Prince Baggett, an entertainment growth and strategy leader and the founder of Gatling Media, where I consult with studios, talent, and investors to develop and scale creative ecosystems. I’m also a partner at The Grindhouse Inc., where we merge culture and innovation to create premium content. Over the years I’ve helped build companies from the ground up—raising capital, negotiating first-look and overall deals, and delivering award-winning films and series for platforms like Netflix, Apple, and Amazon.
What makes my work unique is that I approach every project as more than a single production. I focus on designing multi-platform IP and brand ecosystems that extend into streaming, publishing, live events, and global partnerships. Right now I’m producing a feature documentary for ESPN/Andscape and collaborating with major studios on new films and series, while continuing to help talent and companies grow their brands in a sustainable, globally resonant way

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a curious builder—fascinated by stories and culture, and driven by the thrill of creating something from nothing. Over the years, navigating studios and big deals sometimes pulled me toward titles and expectations. But by building my own name and brand, and gaining enough agency in the business, I’ve been able to circle back to that original spark.
Today I feel closer than ever to that younger version of myself—a bit of a heretic, free to experiment, to question the rules, and to build boldly. That love of building—companies, creative ecosystems, and new ways of telling stories—is still the engine behind everything I do.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self: trust your instincts and protect your freedom. Stay balanced—take care of your health, savor time with people you love, and truly enjoy every experience. Even when situations feel hard, remember that God is setting you up for more. Your curiosity and love of building are your real power, and every bold step—even the tough ones—will carry you toward something bigger than you can see right now.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I’d say the public version of me is very close to the real me—but I’ve also grown back into that real me. Working for others can sometimes pull you into their vision and voice, and along the way you can lose pieces of your own. Building my own name and brand gave me the agency to return fully to myself.
Now what people see is pretty much what they get: a curious builder who loves to create, who laughs easily, and who doesn’t take life too seriously. The work is meaningful, but nothing is so serious that it overshadows joy, faith, or fun.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace in the quiet, early hours of the morning—around 4 a.m.—when I’m working out and the world is still. There’s something grounding about starting the day with movement and silence before the calls, meetings, and creative demands begin. I also find deep peace when I’m building—whether it’s shaping a new company, developing a story, or mapping out a big idea—because creating from scratch connects me back to why I started. And beyond work, I’m at peace when I’m laughing with people I love and remembering that, at the end of the day, nothing is so serious that it should steal joy.
