Shenee Randolph’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Shenee Randolph and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Shenee , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think that people misunderstand why I do what I do. I’m not in it for the money. I’m in it for the passion and genuine love for helping me others see the beauty they possess from the inside out.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Shenee, founder of MsNaeStyles LLC, where I specialize in inclusive hair care and education. From braids to wigs to silk presses, my mission is to create confidence while building community. What sets my brand apart is my focus on serving special-needs clients and training other stylists to do the same, making beauty truly accessible for all.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my mother. Watching her balance strength, grace, and perseverance showed me that hard work is more than just long hours—it’s about purpose, consistency, and integrity. She instilled in me the drive to build something of my own, to push through challenges, and to always create opportunities not just for myself but for others.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up—when I lost my salon space and had to start over. It felt like everything I had worked for was slipping away, but that setback ended up fueling my resilience. Instead of walking away, I rebuilt MsNaeStyles LLC stronger than before, and that moment taught me that sometimes your lowest point can become the foundation for your greatest growth.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to creating a brick-and-mortar community hub for MsNaeStyles LLC—a space where beauty, education, and inclusion come together. No matter how long it takes, I’m determined to build a place where clients feel seen, special-needs families are supported, and future stylists are trained to serve with skill and compassion.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people may misunderstand my legacy as being just about hair. While hair is my craft, my true legacy is about community, empowerment, and creating opportunities for others. The braids, wigs, and styles will fade, but the confidence, education, and spaces I build for people—especially those often overlooked—are what I want to be remembered for.
