Hi Paula, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, I’ve been finding a lot of joy in spending time in nature. Going on workouts outdoors has really grounded me and given me a special kind of energy. I’ve also discovered a new love for being in the kitchen, experimenting and getting creative with new recipes. Most importantly, I’m learning to truly live in the present moment, letting go of over-scheduling and not worrying too much about the future. Being more in the flow has made even the simplest moments feel meaningful and joyful.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Paula Pötry, a Scandinavian creative entrepreneur, social media influencer, and professional model. I’m also the founder of Vanilla Shanti, a lifestyle and wellness brand that blends mindfulness, creativity, and self-expression. Vanilla Shanti is rooted in ecological and sustainable values, creating products that are kind to both people and the planet.
What makes our brand unique is the combination of creativity, mindfulness, and sustainability. Drawing from my experience in the creative and fashion industries, I love experimenting with ideas that inspire people to live consciously while embracing joy, beauty, and authenticity. Looking ahead, we’re planning to expand our product line and bring Vanilla Shanti to new markets in the U.S. in 2026, sharing meaningful experiences with a wider community that values personal growth, creativity, and conscious living.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’ve realized that my tendency to over-schedule and constantly plan every detail has served its purpose in helping me stay disciplined and productive, but lately, it’s also held me back from fully enjoying the present moment. I’m learning to release that need for strict control and embrace more flow, spontaneity, and trust in the process. Letting go of this has opened up more space for creativity, joy, and meaningful connections in both life and work.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to trust the journey a little more and not be so hard on herself. Life doesn’t have to be figured out perfectly, and it’s okay to embrace uncertainty, make mistakes, and take time to explore what truly brings joy. I truly believe that sometimes life knows better the direction we should go than we do ourselves, and later we realize why things unfolded in ways that first felt wrong or against our plans. Everything you’re learning now is shaping the person you’re meant to become. So be gentle, curious, and kind to yourself along the way.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to continuing to build Vanilla Shanti into a meaningful, sustainable, and mindful brand that inspires people to live more consciously and creatively. This journey is also one of self-discovery for me and for the community I’m creating. I believe in the power of combining creativity, wellness, and ecological responsibility, and I’m dedicated to nurturing this vision for as long as it serves and brings value to people. For me, it’s not just about products, it’s about creating experiences and a space that encourages people to slow down, be present, explore themselves, and connect with what truly matters in life.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes, I’ve had experiences where I achieved something I thought I wanted, whether it was a milestone, recognition, or material gain, and realized it didn’t bring the deeper satisfaction I expected. These moments taught me that fulfillment comes not just from accomplishments or possessions, but from meaningful work, creativity, human connection, and the communities we build. They’ve helped me focus on projects and opportunities, like Vanilla Shanti, that truly inspire me, while shaping how I approach future work with purpose, intention, and a focus on fostering real connections.
