An Inspired Chat with Shelby St.clair of Redondo Beach

We recently had the chance to connect with Shelby St.clair and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Shelby, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are sacred—my me time before mom mode begins. I make a warm cup of coffee and settle into the couch where it’s quiet. Some mornings I’ll read, other days I’ll journal or meditate, but always with the intention of pouring into my soul first. This time grounds me, resets my energy, and sets the tone for how I want to show up in my life and business that day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course, I’m Shelby St.clair a Business Coach, first-generation legacy builder, and founder of Shelby St.clair & Co. After surviving a cult-like upbringing, an abusive marriage, and becoming a widow while six months pregnant, I rebuilt my life and business from the ground up. Today, I lead a movement of women founders who are creating conscious, profitable, soul-led brands by integrating deep healing with aligned strategy. Through my signature method, Soul Alignment Activation™, I help women turn their pain into power and scale their business in a way that feels authentic, expansive, and energetically true. Right now, I’m focused on curating transformational events like The Foundress Summit and The Ascension Show Retreat to showcase the next generation of SHE-EOs who are changing the world from the inside out.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that love and acceptance were conditional. That I had to follow the rules, do things the way others told me to, and stay quiet to belong. I grew up feeling like I could be seen but not heard, and that my emotions had no place in the room. Today, I no longer believe that. I know my voice matters, my emotions are valid, and I am worthy of love and success simply by being fully myself.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience in a way success never could. It showed me that even in the darkest moments, I always have a choice: to let the pain define me or to let it propel me forward. Through loss and hardship, I learned that my strength isn’t about avoiding struggle but about choosing to keep moving through it. Success can sometimes feel like luck, but suffering revealed my true power -> the ability to rise no matter what.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes 100%, the public version of me is the real me. As an entrepreneur, I believe it’s so important to be the same person everywhere you show up: online, in person, at events, and inside your offers. Energy speaks before words ever do, and people can feel when something isn’t aligned. For me, integrity means showing up as my true self in every space so that what you see is what you get and that consistency builds trust, connection, and real impact.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m doing what I was born to do, not what I was told to do. Society loves to hand us a checklist for “success”. What to do, how to do it, and when to do it and then makes us feel like we’re not enough if we don’t follow it. But it’s all BS. I believe our true purpose is found in asking ourselves: Does this make me happy? Does this light me up? If the answer is no, it’s not meant for us. We only get one life, and it should be built around joy, fulfillment, and soul alignment. Not someone else’s rules.
