Conversations with RONNIE ALVARADO

Today we’d like to introduce you to RONNIE ALVARADO.

Hi RONNIE, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been a Disney fanatic since I was a kid. As I got older, I also got into metal music—especially the local scene. I loved going to shows, supporting bands by buying their merch, and taking photos of them. Eventually, I started sharing those photos and videos online, showcasing the bands I liked.

That passion led me to create a page dedicated to photography and even promoting and booking shows. I named it Wolf of Honour Productions, inspired by one of my favorite black metal bands, Satanic Warmaster. It was all about collaborating with other promoters and supporting the scene. It was a great time—until COVID hit and everything came to a halt. Since then, I lost the desire or inspiration to do shows but I’ve slowly been getting back into photography.

Around that same time, I started getting into supporting small businesses—especially ones that make shirts and designs I’d actually wear, just like I did with band merch. I began going to all the spooky pop-ups in town and connecting with the people behind the art. My Instagram, @Satanic_Werwolf (also inspired by Satanic Warmaster), became a mix of all my interests: Disney, metal music, and craft beer which I have been craft beer enthusiast since 2009. I have even poured beers at beer festival. I even post quick movie reviews on my IG stories.

As I got more involved in the small business community, I started tagging brands in my photos to help showcase their work. I’ve always been drawn to alternative styles—especially Disney horror or Disney metal mashups—so supporting these brands felt natural. Eventually, they started noticing my posts, and I was lucky enough to start doing collabs. I even connected with a brand called Spooky Mama Co, whose designs really stood out to me. I had the opportunity to bring one of my own shirt ideas to life through a collab with them, and it turned out amazing.

Now, I just want to keep doing this—representing more brands, building community, and sharing what I love through photography and style.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggles were the amounts of work that went into Booking and promoting bands. It’s fun taking pictures, but the editing process is time consuming with Wolf of Honour. The Instagram algorithm could be better cuz it’s hard to be seen cuz how hard worked I have worked on my content. I need to work on my confidence and stop second guessing myself on posting the content.

The Work/life balance has been challenging especially keeping the inspiration / desire to keeping on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m trying to be a Disney influencer with a spooky /metal aesthetics to it which I’m trying to specialize in. A lot of people know me for my Disney/ metal/ craft beer taste. I’m just trying to have a fun time while doing this. I’m proud of to know people with similar interests. I’m especially proud of my first collab shirt design with spooky mama co also collaborated with others to do a first Spooky Mama Co Meet and Greet. That was so much fun. What sets me apart is that I’m pretty persistent and I’m always trying to be optimistic.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Well I do all this while maintaining my regular full time at the school district. It’s been a fun ride for sure.
