Today we’re excited to be connecting with Rebecca Hurt again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Rebecca, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
My name is Rebecca Hurt and I am an actress here in Los Angeles. I am originally from Tennessee and have been here for 6 years now. I have done a couple of interviews here and every time I feel as if I have started a new chapter on my journey here. New headshots, new connections, and new insights on hope within this acting world.
I can definitely say that I am living where my dreams are being fed and taken care of. Acting is a hard career and looking at everything I have done up til now I know I am where I am supposed to be.
Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
We are currently entering into the new year of 2025 and the work that I have done has pushed me to be so excited for what is to come. I currently have new management and my connections have led me to have some pretty amazing auditions. At the beginning of the year, I will know if I booked the highest paying job since living here in LA.
This hasn’t come without challenges. Being an actor is competitive and there are times when you feel as if you made the wrong choice to pursue this career. I personally know some actors that have some pretty impressive careers and even they have struggled in the beginning to justify going through the struggles of such a harsh career. Losing management, losing agents, family questioning your career decisions, and so many other things weigh on actors every day no matter where they are in their career. But when you feel the spark to get back up again, to push yourself and remember the reasons why you are doing this you can’t help but push on.
For me, I have been here for six years, and the relationships, the community I have built, and the fire I feel in my body while acting have kept me alive and going. This upcoming year I have some projects that could change my whole life and I can’t wait to dive head-first into them.
I have always wanted to use my art to inspire others and to create a space where people are welcome to feel what is inside of them and let it out into the world. I love getting to participate in these interviews because maybe someone will read this and see just how much they can give back to the world. Because of this, I think the biggest update on my journey would be that I am alive and my passion hasn’t disappeared. I still feel like the 22-year-old woman who took a chance and moved to LA without knowing anyone, but knowing that there is something out here for me.
We have now arrived at one of our favorite parts of the interview – the lightning round. We’ll ask you a few quick questions to give us all some fun insights about you.

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
I want to be proud of the impact I have left. I want the people I connect with to be inspired, the places I go to be left better from where I found them, and the world to have more love in it because I was there. I want to give back as much as I can. When I was little I used to tell my mom, I wish I could have the income to become a billionaire and never become one because I gave so much to the people around me and the world that I live in.
I guess all three of my things come down to me wanting to be proud that I gave my all and my all made a difference.
