Meet Trailblazer Caitlyn Chase

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlyn Chase.

Caitlyn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first discovered my love for writing and creating imagery when I was about ten years old. My family traveled extensively all over the world and I would always write about my experiences and time spent traveling in journals. I also loved documenting my trips by taking hundreds of photos. I would then come back to Los Angeles and share my journey with all of my friends and teachers. Today, we call that content creation. Back then, it was just a creative outlet for me.

I turned my passion for creating content into a career at the age of eighteen when I began writing and producing photo shoots for fashion and beauty magazines. I worked for five different magazines before I took the plunge in creating my own luxury lifestyle blog, called Caviar & Cashmere. I was driven to start a blog after realizing that I wanted to share my own experiences and opinions with the world, just like I did when I was only ten years old.

I launched Caviar & Cashmere in 2012, not knowing that it would turn into what it is today.

Has it been a smooth road?
I can honestly say that being a female in business has fortunately only been a positive experience for me. This has been especially true in my entrepreneurial endeavors. There are so many amazing organizations for female founders that promote collaboration, networking and helping one another succeed. These communities, both offline and online, give women a competitive advantage over men, as we can band together and have strength in numbers.

My single piece of advice for any young women who’d like to own their own business is to never stop learning. The key to growth, innovation, and success is knowledge. Be an avid learner with a thirst for knowledge. There are so many resources at our disposable, from books to audiobooks to podcasts to free online courses. Drench your mind with information.

We’d love to hear more about Caviar & Cashmere.
Caviar & Cashmere is the ultimate destination for the latest and greatest in luxury lifestyle. From fashion, beauty, travel, interior design, wellness to lifestyle, I travel the world finding the best of the best to cover on the Caviar & Cashmere blog, helping readers pursue a life well lived from the inside out.

I have been called a luxury lifestyle expert, representing other brands as a Brand Ambassador. Some companies I have had the pleasure to work with and represent include Olay, Diageo, Fairmont Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Virgin Limited Edition Hotels, GlamSquad and CBS News.

My work has been recognized and featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, Glamour, Blackbook, Vogue, US Weekly and Angeleno, among others.

A few of my most recent accomplishments were being named one of the “top 10 fashion bloggers in Los Angeles” by Locale Magazine two years in a row, “one to watch in 2017” by Los Angeles Confidential Magazine, and winning Los Angeles Business Journal’s “trendsetter of the year” award last year.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I am so thankful that my parents shared their thirst to see and experience the world with my sister and I. We visited a new part of the globe every year and were able to see and learn so much about it. I think being well-traveled helps an entrepreneur gain perspective, appreciate diversity, understand their customer and helps to feeds the curious mind.
