Today we’d like to introduce you to Tigerlily Hill and Nik Stewart.
Both founders are originally from the Cayman Islands and their home paradise has wholly inspired their all-inclusive swimwear/body line. They are best friends and are both island girls who’ve been in the fashion industry from an early age. Tigerlily, a fashion designer/celebrity wardrobe stylist and Nik, a model, athlete and Caribbean food connoisseur.
They wanted to collaborate on an eco-friendly line that appreciates fit and freedom keeping each piece on the ultra-sultry side. Their intention for the line is to evoke transparency and timelessness of how they grew up in the Cayman Islands and this is the major influence why they chose to use fishnet as the mainstay fabric for each collection. The Cayman Islands has a rich seafaring/fishing history and heritage; they embody that independent spirit of entrepreneurship. They have so many things in common, one of the aspects is being on past US reality tv shows which have taught them about combining creativity with commercialism. This balance is the basis of their marketing strategy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not every idea goes into production. On a cost level we’re very careful about each item that we make. One of the struggles cited is getting our size run to be precise. We found that getting this part of the business accurate has a direct correlation in garnering high demand for our product.
Nothing But Net Body – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We have a swimsuit/body line. We specialize in and are known for our fishnet swimsuits. We are proud to create this company with our home island in mind and we believe this is what sets us apart in the market. We are original and so is our product. We pride ourselves in being transparent with our customers; our mantra is “you see me as I see me”. We took this a step further and parlayed this vision and founded a mother agency where we sign diverse and talented individuals. The result is “Nothing But Net International”.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to us is achieving our desired goals. We find power in the steps we take toward our vision, further attaining the outcome gives us confidence. For our line, we’re looking for expansion and the opportunity to be in more stores and create new products. Our aim is to gain popularity, profit and prosperity in our business.
