Meet Sp_ce Phantom of The Takerz Club in North East Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sp_ce Phantom.

Sp_ce, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I originally started rapping at the age of ten years old but I wasn’t fully promoting it to people. I was rapping with a cousin that lives in Santa Ana in Orange County in this Christian rap Group called B4K. I honestly felt like I was just lying to myself since I wasn’t taking the whole Christian thing serious. I took a break from rapping and went through high school just being a normal Knuckle Head. Towards the end of my senior year of high school, my friend was working on a mixtape and I asked him if I can be apart of it and that just sparked my drive to chase a music career. Once I graduated High School and started working, I got myself a laptop and desk Microphone and released two mixtapes on my own but with YouTube beats.

Due to the fact that I released two mixtapes using YouTube beats, I wasn’t satisfied so with just one call from a representative of the Los Angeles Film School, I decided to make an investment in myself and went to school for Music Production. I graduated from the Los Angeles Film School In December 2018 and thanks to the Knowledge, Tools and connections I have made, I’ve been able to do pretty well for myself as an artist. I surrounded myself around the right people like my Takerz Club brothers Lexx Samplez, T.K.S and Y.n.G Juice who I met at the Film School. Also, I can’t forget to mention my brother Al3ution who mixed my first project available on all streaming services “Abducted”. It’s hard to find good friends and especially in the music industry, everyone just looks for the people that are gonna help them get to the top. I’m glad I’m around people I can trust and that are gonna help me improve myself as an artist and as a person.

Has it been a smooth road?
There’s always gonna be struggles when you’re trying to achieve greatness, Muhammad Ali didn’t just throw one punch and became champion. It takes hard work and dedication to become a boss, things aren’t just handed to you, you got want it. I live in Fontana which is 60-mile commute to Los Angeles, I came from a low-income household so we were barely scraped by so gas and lunch money was something I had to figure out everyday I had to go to school. Also, not having a reliable car was always a situation I had, my car was always either overheating and breaking down for some reason which would really just make me question everything I was doing. At the end of the day, If I didn’t have people who supported me and will always have my back no matter what it is. If it wasn’t for my parents doing what they do as parents, I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Also, shout out to the people that also helped me aside of my parents, they know who they are.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Takerz Club story. Tell us more about the business.
I go by the name Sp_ce Phantom, I am an Artist, Music Producer, Engineer, Creator of all sorts. I also just got into vlogging and planned to do skits or maybe make my own short film in the future. I don’t want to leave this world and just be known as the guy who makes music, I want to be known as someone inspirational, a role model, a voice for people, I want to be known as someone who was able to impact this world, or else what would be the point of my parents risking their lives to come to America in hope of a better life. I move with the group known as The Takerz Club, the name itself tells you how we roll. Just a group of Creators who don’t plan on playing by the rules and plan on taking over the music game. Nowadays, artists are just trying to sound like other artists. No one wants to make their own sound anymore. I’m trying to start my own wave, I don’t want to be known as the guy who sounds like such and such. You gotta own who you are and be true to your craft.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see The Takerz Club as the next major label a lot of artists want to be signed to. Also, a label that other labels want to work with. Obviously, as a group of artists that run like a label, we are competitive but we also want to collaborate with each other and expand our work with other artists as much as we can. Another thing about us is that we have all have a different sound and each artist has their own unique touch to their work. Everyone one in the group knows how to make beats, engineer and mix, so we usually don’t have to wait on someone else to get a song done and that’s a big plus. I have faith in not only myself but the people I work with to make an impact in this music game. Don’t sleep on us, we got nothing but greatness in the making.
