Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Smushkevich.
Victor, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I was about five years old, I always knew that I wanted to start my own business but never had the right guidance as of where to start. I wasn’t considered the smartest kid in high school and actually got kicked out a couple of times of having the lowest GPA in my high school history a 0.0. Somehow I talked my way back in and luckily graduated in 2008.
Shortly after graduating from high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, but I knew that I didn’t want to do schooling anymore. So I decided to buy a random internet marketing course and take a chance at online marketing. I started my first e-commerce store back in 2009, where I shortly learned after how to drive traffic to a website and convert that into sales. I then ventured off into affiliate marketing, where I specialized in running paid ads to credit repair and dating websites. I was able to generate over $600,000 while doing affiliate marketing and funneled that cash and skillset into Smart Street Media in 2013.
Now Smart Street Media is a 7-figure digital marketing agency that specializes in SEO, lead generation, and e-commerce.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was a very bumpy road along the way because I had to teach my self-discipline and everything about managing a business.
One of the biggest challenges for me was not diversifying my income while I was doing affiliate marketing. I had a profitable credit repair campaign that was doing upwards of $50,000/month, and the company decided to pull the offer, which resulted in me generating $0 the next month. That was when I realized I shouldn’t put all of my eggs in one basket and use my profits to diversify into other online income streams.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Smart Street Media story. Tell us more about the business.
Founded in 2013, Smart Street Media is a full-service digital marketing agency that specializes in Search Engine Optimization, Lead Generation, and E-Commerce. Our main strength is identifying a business’s most profitable audience and helping them generate laser targeted traffic via search engines and social media.
We have worked with several well-known brands such as Acorns, WeWork, Mr. Rooter, eLocal, and several more.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry moving toward mobile-focused experiences and making it as easy to buy on mobile devices as possible. This is because the majority of people live on their cell phones and spend an average of 3 hours and 15 minutes per day. I only see that number increasing in the next several years.
