Meet Jill Anenberg Lawrence of Health Uncensored in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Anenberg Lawrence.

Jill, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
This girl is your quintessential middle child. I love making others laugh and engaging with a crowd of people informing and entertaining.

When I first moved to LA, I performed stand-up comedy for years. Let’s just say my sense of humor is for the adult crowd. My motto now as a Health Coach is, “What comes out of your mouth can be dirty, but not what goes in.” I’ve taken that love of entertainment and married it to my true passion: educating others on health and wellness while keeping it super fun. Ok, and maybe a little uncensored.

I’ve always lived a healthy life and found myself constantly giving nutrition and fitness tips to others. I decided to make this love affair official by receiving expert training becoming a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and studying under Dietician Keri Glassman also becoming Nutritious Life Certified.

I create health/fitness/wellness videos on my YouTube channel, which always include a healthy dose of humor and cameos of my two rescue dogs. I volunteer with Operation Blankets of Love (they donate comfort items to shelters and rescue organizations throughout the LA area) because my mission is to improve the lives of people and animals. Wagging tails and doggy kisses raise your endorphins more than any cocktail or Girl Scout cookie ever could. I donate 5% of my business each month to a different animal charity because I want to give back as well as increase awareness around animal welfare.

Health is so much more than food–it’s all the areas in our life that feed us and creating awareness around those choices is what I strive to empower people with.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hell no! LOL. Starting up a business has many moving parts. I’ve learned to acknowledge every little step along the way. We don’t realize the huge progress we’ve made when new goals are always being set. I like to celebrate all victories, like making a scary phone call that makes me nervous, to reading an article I wrote published on a health website. A wise woman told me, “Life has its ups and downs, and in the ups and the downs it sometimes gets messy. The key is to know how to ride the wave. Riding the wave with acceptance, peace, love, surrender, and joy is the secret.” No secret, that’s not always easy. However, having a community that supports you, provides tough love when needed and cheers you on is priceless. *You girls know who you are and I love you all so much! Thank you! I’ve struggled with all parts of being an entrepreneur. Regardless the job, I’ll always have this tenacious ball busting hustle in me though. Sure, I have my moments when it’s rough and I binge on vegan NadaMoo ice-cream (it’s SO GOOD!) but then I have to toss that half-eaten pint in the freezer, pep talk the shit out of myself and remember my mission. Provide edutainment to the two-legged so I can help rescue more of the furry four-legged.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Health Uncensored – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I work with clients to set overall health and wellness goals looking at all areas of their life that make them happy and healthy. From sleep, managing stress, balancing home life, increasing their immune system, upgrading to nontoxic products, supplementation, healthier food alternatives, etc. When we make wellness a priority, huge positive changes begin. When you eat well, it changes your thoughts, awareness, mood, brain, blood, even the planet. A nourishing life is created with loving relationships, a fulfilling career, an exercise regime you enjoy and will stick to, and an uplifting spiritual practice. Don’t worry I won’t get all “What’s your sign?” on you. Hey, one of my spiritual practices is taking my dogs to the dog park and watching them run around like fools.

Every program I design is specific to you and your concerns and goals. No two people are alike, and programs are not one size fits all. An area of expertise of mine is environmental toxins. The products we put on our skin, clean our house with, inhale and absorb affect us immensely. So, I include this imperative puzzle piece that interferes with everyone’s health with each client. I communicate in an open, uncensored fashion, and my goal is to make our time together encouraging, transformative and fun. After all, laughing does create tighter abs!

One of my favorite services is a Skype or FaceTime “Pantry Makeover.” Is there any better threesome than you, me and your fridge? Well yeah, there is. We go through the items in your fridge, freezer and pantry…even under your sink, and I teach you how to read ingredient labels, decipher unhealthy ingredients and share delicious healthier options to swap to. Your health begins with the right choices. I’ll help you stock up with foods that make you thrive!

If you live in the LA area…it’s a date! Well, a grocery store date, but you and I will have so much fun running around the store together!

Are there vegetables, grains, superfoods, cool vegan products that you’re intrigued but also intimidated by? Many people feel overwhelmed at a Health Food Store. It’s my health nerd heaven! I’ll be your product wingman.

Being that my background is in comedy and TV Hosting, naturally, I love being in front of a crowd. Giving corporate presentations and public speaking is super fun! By now, I’m sure you’re getting a sense of my style. Keep it light, entertaining, funny and laid back.

Having a journalism degree; writing articles for companies makes me feel better about those 4 years in University. 😉 I’ve really enjoyed writing about incredible products, sharing my expertise around ingredients both in food and body products and creating fun videos and Instagram pics.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We’re all searching for the perfect protein bar with zero crap that tastes great. I’m gonna be the girl to bring it to ya! And 20% of the proceeds will go to rescue animals. Even bigger future plans- write a book, create an online course that’s incredibly funny and informative, and continue to speak to larger and larger crowds about the good word of health.
