Meet Jade Patteri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Patteri.

Jade, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a singer-songwriter, dancer and actress based in Los Angeles, California! I’ve been working in the entertainment industry since I was a kid! My parents were and are my inspiration to start and stay in this industry and I could not be more thankful to have their support and guidance while I continue to pursue my career in the arts. Being backstage at my dad’s shows and taking classes from my mom was a great way for me to see how much I really loved performing and being able to create! Ever since then, I’ve been writing my own music, acting and dancing non stop!! I’ve known what I wanted to do with my life ever since I was five years old and because of that I’ve been working and practicing my craft to hopefully become successful in this industry and influence future generations with my lyrics, storytelling and ability to make people feel something!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Throughout my career, I would say I’ve been through some roads that have been on the smoother side…however, I’ve also had to deal with some struggles as well. I would say I’ve experienced a balance of both and I’m very grateful that I have because when struggles approached that’s when I ended up writing some of my most profound lyrics. I believe that some of the best art is created from places of uncertainty and times of struggle so in every opportunity I am given I always try to find a way to look at the positive side or see how I can make the most out of the situation at hand! I dealt with a lot of personal struggles that I had to deal with and writing music became my favorite coping mechanism. My EP Unity touches on many important societal issues as well as issues in my own personal life that I wrote about to hopefully help someone else cope as well.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
When I was a kid, whenever anyone would ask what I wanted to be when I grew up, I answered with “making people happy.” Now as years have passed, I’ve reconfigured that statement to “being an influence.” My goal in life is to become an influence and inspire others to pursue what they love… and the way I intend on influencing is the way I know best and that’s through the arts. I intend on using my ability to sing, write, act and create movement to inspire and influence. I am most proud of my work and reasoning. I am extremely passionate about giving back what I have received and so I continue to connect my work with charities and organizations that help kids, adults and people in general who are in need by providing them with the right tools to help. I believe what sets me apart is my lyrics and intentionality. With every song, I hope to touch someone more than the last and with every word, I write with the intention of creating change and/or sparking a sense of overwhelming joy while listening to my music. I will make sure to keep pursuing the light in the industry and staying true to my morals and beliefs.

What role has luck (good luck or bad luck) played in your life and business?
I’m someone who looks at it less from a perspective of “luck” but instead hard work paying off and being persistent. I would say I’m a very hard-working individual and I believe that it has helped me tremendously in this industry because I am always striving to be better. I notice that whenever I become lazy or start to slack off I lose motivation and others start to notice as well… so when that starts to happen, I immediately get back on my game and begin working more productively. There are a lot of talented people in this industry but you can always spot a difference between the people who sit back and wait for opportunities to approach them and the ones who constantly strive for success and make opportunity happen themselves.
