Meet Erika Stasiuleviciute

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Stasiuleviciute.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Erika. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Ever since I was a little girl, I had so much love for life. I wanted to try it all. In many ways, I did! Helping people and being useful is a passion of mine so getting my bachelors degree in law seemed obvious. While pursing my LAW degree, I traveled the world modeling internationally. I would get ready for exams during weekends and on the lunch breaks of my fashion shoots. The books were so heavy. Half of my suitcase would be filled with them! The world of Fashion opened so many doors for me. I got to work with most amazing creators, designers, photographers, and art directors. It was and still is inspiring. While I was doing all that, I decided to write about the people and places that inspired me the most. This passion got me a job writing articles for the biggest paper in Lithuania. All of this was fantastic but my next job would turn my life upside down. I got an offer to be a host of a TV show called “TV Pagalba” (“TV HELP”).

After a year of doing all these jobs, I found it too demanding. There was too much on my plate. I wasn’t even sleeping! Something had to go. University was too important. I had to continue with my degree. Modelling allowed to travel the world. I fell in love with my travels, living on different continents every few weeks, and diving into new cultures and customs. I became an addict to learning how life works on different parts of the globe. I wanted to continue that journey. This led me to leave the show and pursue my other dreams. At this point in time, I began to get small parts in films. This was my absolute favourite. With a bachelor’s degree in hand, I turned my focus to my modeling career. This is when I made London my base city. I loved London. For many years I called it my second home. While there, I started teaching at a University. I also produced fashion shows and organized photography exhibitions.

One day, I had an epiphany while I was doing all these jobs. My life’s calling is acting! That’s why I was testing myself in so many different places. I wanted to explore all the different, possible Erika’s I could be. After feeling it out for a bit, I thought it might be a fling. Many “clever” friends thought I was crazy but I realized that being an actress makes me the happiest. Though I had my reservations, I couldn’t deny it any longer. I moved to Los Angeles, joined Photogenics (The best modeling agency in USA) so I could continue my model career, and study at many different acting schools. Training and preparing for being an actress has been best years of my life, so far. My curiosity and love for this craft took me to most magical places. Set life is my favorite and I’ve been truly living my dream the past few years.

Even though acting and modeling are great, I am not one to rest. I was longing for another challenge so I joined the forces with my dear friend Giedre Kose to work with most amazing jewelry brand “Planet Kasumi.” Planet Kasumi is an ethereal pearl jewelry line that embodies a woman’s inner world – gentle and elegant, yet wild and unpredictable. Every pearl is handpicked for its unique shape and quality from rare locations around the world, including lake Kasumigaura, Japan. We sell a lot online, however i am the most proud to share that we sell in the most amazing store, that was named one of the best shops in London many times over called “The Library” in South Kensington and in another fabulous store ‘202’ in Notting Hill. These are my favorite stores in the world and I am most proud to sell our jewelry there.  We are also super excited to participate at West Coast Craft – highly curated design fair happening for the first time in LA! It will be held at ROW DTLA on the 7-8th of December. I hope to see you all there!

Has it been a smooth road?
Is it ever a smooth road to anything? I would say staying away from my family for months on end is the hardest part. I always wish “if only they lived closer.” But I think staying positive is key. This is why I try to see beauty in things and situations.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
A few years ago, I started pursuing my acting career professionally. The acting agency I signed with a few months ago is “CSM” Camilla Storey Management. They’ve been amazing. I now have a helpful and supportive team of people behind me. The owner Camilla took me under her wing and is representing me internationally. She’s been fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for a better agent. I’ve been very lucky and I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many talented people. My work ethic is starting to pay off. My films are winning many awards in different film festivals, but “Sweet Lies” – a short I produced and acted in, is the one that won the most awards. It’s still circulating in film festivals. Directed by mega talented Pascal Lebegue (Madonna, Sting, Bon Jovi, Janet Jackson, etc.), written by talented Richard D. Roberts (amazing actor, played my husband in it) and the gorgeous Gana Bayarsaikhan (“Waiting for the Barbarians” (with Johnny Depp) “Ex Machina” etc.)

My other short “The Monster” directed by amazing Neil Stevens, produced by talented Ryan T. Husk (“Star Trek”) is also going through film festival circuit. It has collected many awards. “WHYes” is the one I’m most excited about. This feature premieres September 21st in Austin/Texas. Directed by incredibly talented Jack Henry Robbins. (Starring Susan Sarandon. Tim Robbins). My other feature should premiere any time soon as well. “Lost Angeles” is a film, directed by the talented Jesse Dvorak. March of 2020 also holds big things. “The Reverend & Mrs. Simpson” will be coming out. As well as few other mega exciting films, that I am not allowed to speak about just yet 😉 As an actor, I am very drawn to danger. This is why “dangerous” roles excite me. Bad girls are my favorite. When I commit to these roles, I dive in headfirst and go full speed. Whatever it takes. With the roles I take, I try create, live and breathe in a whole new world. I’ll let everyone in Hollywood fight for the “hero” roles. I choose to look for dark ones.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that LA city has soooooo much nature in it and offers the most amazing lifestyle to us all! Hikes in the morning, ocean any free minute you have… Desert is right here, just a little drive away from here… And I need to go to a desert every so often… that is my favorite place… music of a desert.. that special silence – and incredible nature around it… Thats my place in it for sure!
