Meet Brandon Travis of Fotobybrandon in Orange County – Anaheim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Travis.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from a very small town that goes by the name of Greensboro in Alabama. I left home immediately after graduating high school at the young age of 18 to join the United States Marine Corps. After serving 4 great years with the Corps and 2 insane trips to Iraq, I left the service and began my school career. I started out at a junior college in San Diego County and transferred to Cal State Fullerton in 2009, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2011. I have been working as an auditor with the state of California ever since right after graduating.

I picked up the hobby of photography in December 2016 and instantly fell in love with it. I have done a couple of events for a financial benefit, but I haven’t delved fully into the artistry just yet due to being back in school for my masters in information systems (I know… I am all over the place!) I am in the final year of the program which means that I will have a lot more time for photoshoots once I’m done.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a smooth road for me with photography because it’s so much fun to learn about. And just being out there looking at the world through a lens and in a different way is just amazing!

Fotobybrandon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am an amateur photographer that is secretly a pro. I am currently known for my love of candid shots but will make the transition to portraits very soon.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as desiring to be one of, if not, the best at whatever you began as a goal, career path, objective, etc. Also, you have to constantly remind yourself that others will never truly know how successful you are unless they know where you started and how hard you worked to achieve it.
