Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Nagy and Janriel Lobaton.
Alexandra and Janriel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our company got started because we own two dogs of our own, and we learned that it was very hard to find reliable care for them. We both have a passion for helping animals, so we decided it was time to start a company doing what we love.
We opened on February 21, 2018, and never looked back. In order to build our business, we had to be very crafty. Our budget was very tight, but we were able to make it happen. To keep our schedule open for any dog walk that came our way, we worked as bicycle couriers in Downtown LA.
This also allowed us to ride around town and meet many pet owners who were seeking our service. On our downtime, we focused on keeping up on our social media to get exposure on different platforms.
From opening to present, we built a full-time business for both of us, as well as having another pack leader in our team. We are rapidly growing and look forward to making more furry friends in Downtown LA!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We had our fair share of hardships when we started the company. We both jumped into this business right away and gave our 100% to it. Financially it was hard when we did not have any customers, but we kept believing and working hard toward our goal. We were working all hours of the day accepting all walks possible in all sides of dtla. In doing so, we were able to establish growing via word of mouth from our clients.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fitpals story. Tell us more about the business.
Fitpals is a dog walking company local to DTLA that specializes in providing a personalized dog walking experience. By providing a free meet and greet we are able to get to know our clients and their furry friends.
During our meet and greet we evaluate what each pups needs are whether it’s getting a great physical exercise with running, or focusing on mental stimulation by getting used to walking in the city or in a pack. Our walks are GPS tracked and come with a detailed report after each walk with photos.
We also post fun Instagram pictures and story videos for each pack member. We are proud to be able to provide a caring and professional service for all our furry friends! It truly makes us happy seeing each pup happy and tired after each walk.
