Life & Work with Jack Farmer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Farmer.

Hi Jack, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up a fan of wrestling. When I was a kid, my cousin would babysit and bring over tapes from different wrestling shows for me to watch. As I grew up and continued to watch, I became a fan of the voices I heard on the broadcast. I remember thinking Michael Buffer had the greatest job in the world. He got to go to these amazing events, watch the shows, say “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” and everyone would cheer! I remember the commentary team calling the action and telling the stories like excited narrators. While going to school, I started DJing and MCing weddings to pay bills, and I used the skills I learned there to start working with local wrestling and boxing companies doing the very things I grew up enjoying.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth doing is going to have a smooth road with no obstacles. With any type of entertainment, you have to put in time to get opportunities and usually those don’t pay a lot if anything at all. There were a lot of hours (a LOT) that were done without pay and seen by almost no one. It was those payless hours that no one could see that helped prepare me for the better opportunities that arose, however.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an on-air talent, host, commentator, ring announcer, interviewer and correspondent for professional wrestling and combat sports. I work as a host for The Ringer, a division of Spotify, as well as Wrestling INC, a division of Static Media. I’ve done commentary, ring announcing, hosting, and interviewing for the United Wrestling Network, Championship Wrestling, PrimeTime LIVE, Defy Wrestling, Santino Bros Wrestling, Circle 6 and the Influencer Fight League.

Something I try to bring is positivity and enthusiasm into everything I do. I can’t expect anyone to be more excited than I am when it comes to any show or production I’m a part of, so I try to keep the energy high while helping to tell a story. Whether it be a story coming across in a pro wrestling match, between two influencers that hate each other and want to box it out, or in covering the biggest news story of the day. On top of that, I do my best to keep things fun. At the end of the day, it’s all entertainment, and I want that to be at the heart of everything I do.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
In this day in age, the best thing to do is check out my social media. You can find me @realjackfarmer across them all. I’m always promoting my shows there. You can also go to www.jackcfarmer.com to see all my info as well. Go to a show, or order one of the shows to watch at home. If it’s one of my podcasts or broadcast shows, you’d be surprised how far a 5-star review, a like, a comment, a follow/subscribe and most importantly, sharing it can really go. It’s appreciated however you interact.
