Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly King.
Kimberly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After going through my own major health transformation through nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle changes, I was inspired to help others do the same. I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2015 and decided to become a certified health coach. I was passionate about health and wellness and I always knew I wanted to own my own business. As I began coaching, I realized that while health is a passion of mine, I felt like there was something else I was meant to be doing.
So I started brainstorming different skills and passions I had and that’s when I decided to launch my own virtual assistant business in October of 2015. This quickly took off (I signed my first client within two weeks of launching) and I decided to teach myself graphic and web design. I started working with ambitious entrepreneurs to help them create a stand out brand and online presence. Shortly after, I was able to quit my day job and go full-time as an entrepreneur. As my business continued to grow, I knew I wanted to help other aspiring entrepreneurs create and launch their businesses, so that’s when I began offering business coaching.
Now, I’m a business coach, brand strategist and web designer in one. My passion is helping new online entrepreneurs create and launch a sustainable business so they can work from anywhere and get paid to do what they love.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not! It’s been a roller coaster. One of the biggest struggles was shifting my mindset and overcoming limiting beliefs. Being an entrepreneur can bring up so many things for you to work through. It’s one of the greatest forms of personal development there is. Having a supportive circle around you, whether that’s a partner, friends, family, other entrepreneurs or a coach/mentor can make all the difference.
Creating a schedule that works for me has also been a learning curve. When you’re putting so much energy into growing your business, especially in the beginning stages, it can be hard to create healthy boundaries around work and play. This is essential if you want to create a sustainable business that allows you to have the freedom and flexibility you desire.
I’ve also had to put more focus on my mental health at times. As entrepreneurs, we tend to put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do things “perfectly” or to be “successful”. It’s so important to look after both our physical and mental health and make self-care a priority.
Although it hasn’t always been a smooth road, I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a business coach, brand strategist and web designer in one. I also have years of experience as a virtual assistant and love all things organization, tech and design. My passion is helping new online entrepreneurs create and launch a sustainable business so they can work from anywhere and get paid to do what they love.
I help my clients with everything from creating an authentic and aligned brand, launching their website, getting visible online, creating a signature program, mastering their message, gaining clarity on their vision, attracting their ideal clients, overcoming limiting beliefs, creating supportive systems and processes that allow them to work from anywhere and live the lifestyle they desire and so much more.
I know what it’s like to have a big vision for your life but feeling too afraid to take action. I’ve been stuck, spinning my wheels and wondering whether I can really make this work. I’ve been able to quit my job, become fully booked and go full-time in my business. I’ve been through it and made it out the other side and that’s why I’m so passionate about helping other entrepreneurs on their own journey so they can create a life and business they truly love — whatever that looks like for them.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I definitely would have invested in support sooner! Having my own coach to guide me through the learning curves, help me overcome the limiting beliefs that inevitably come up and to believe in me has been invaluable. When you can learn from someone who has been through what you’re going through and made it out the other side, it allows you to grow quicker and saves you so much time, money and energy. Your personal growth is directly correlated with your business growth which is why it’s so important to get support from someone who can help you along the way.
