Vicky Keisler shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Vicky , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Many people assume our work is primarily relaxation-focused, but our core focus is long-term skin correction, and trust-based client relationships. We take a clinical, highly customized approach to skincare, combining experience, consistency, and accountability rather than quick fixes or trend-driven treatments.
Another common misconception is that our success comes from marketing or branding alone. In truth, our growth has been built organically through community trust, client retention, word-of-mouth referrals, and sustained customer satisfaction, which is reflected in our A+ BBB accreditation and rating. That rating represents years of engagement, responsiveness, and integrity within the Irvine community.
Finally, our product line is sometimes assumed to be generic or retail-driven. In reality, it was developed to support professional treatments and real skin conditions, informed by hands-on experience with thousands of clients — not mass production or hype.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Na’ava Skin Care Spa is a results-driven skin health practice rooted in the Irvine community, founded on the belief that real skin transformation comes from consistency, education, and trust. We specialize in highly customized corrective treatments for concerns like acne, sensitivity, and aging, taking a clinical yet holistic approach rather than offering one-size-fits-all services. Our work is deeply relationship-based, built over years of hands-on experience, strong client retention, and community engagement, which is reflected in our A+ BBB accreditation. Paniym Skin Care was created as a natural extension of that work — a focused, treatment-supportive product line developed from real clinical use, designed to strengthen the skin and maintain results between visits. Together, Na’ava and Paniym represent a thoughtful, integrity-driven approach to long-term skin health rather than quick fixes or trends.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I’ve built with my clients over the years. Working so closely with people through their skin journeys — often during vulnerable moments tied to confidence, health, and self-image — taught me patience, accountability, and the importance of trust. Their honesty, progress, setbacks, and loyalty pushed me to grow not just as an esthetician, but as a business owner and a person. That ongoing relationship reinforced my belief that real impact comes from consistency, listening deeply, and standing behind your work, and it ultimately shaped the way I lead Na’ava Skin Care Spa and developed Paniym Skin Care.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering teaches limits, perspective, and empathy in ways success cannot. Success reinforces strategies that work; suffering exposes what doesn’t. It forces adaptation, self-awareness, and accountability because there is no external validation to rely on. While success can build confidence, suffering builds discernment — clarifying priorities, reducing ego, and sharpening judgment. In practical terms, suffering creates better decision-making because it reveals consequences, resilience, and the cost of ignoring reality.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smart people in the service and skincare industries often get it wrong by treating trends, technology, and quick fixes as a substitute for true expertise and client care. They focus on scaling fast, chasing social media buzz, or selling products rather than deeply understanding the unique needs of each client and building lasting relationships. In running a small business, they may prioritize efficiency over trust, metrics over experience, or profit over integrity, forgetting that longevity comes from consistent service, listening, and meaningful engagement.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I want people to remember me as someone who moves through the world with a quiet grace, noticing the small moments that others often miss. That my hands brought them comfort, whether tending to skin, nurturing a client, or simply offering a smile that lingers in their memory. I want them to remember that I listened with my whole heart, making each person feel seen and valued, as if their story matters above all else. Even in the busiest or hardest days, I want them to remember that my warmth never fades, and my laughter feels like sunlight breaking through clouds. By the time you leave my presence, you carry a little of my calm and care with you, as if the world itself has softened around you.
