Story & Lesson Highlights with Singing Psychic Medium Saskia Staeuble (Dust of Soul) of Bel Air

Singing Psychic Medium Saskia Staeuble (Dust of Soul) shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Saskia, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
There really is no typical day for me. I live very much in flow, and each day unfolds a little differently. What remains constant is how I begin my mornings. I love starting the day with a long, refreshing walk, allowing my body to move and my mind to settle. When I return, I take time for a warm cup of tea and a quiet moment of meditation before stepping into the rhythm of the day.

From there, my work weaves between creation, connection, and preparation. I spend time nurturing our social media channels, sharing inspiration, guidance, and new content with our community. Throughout the day, I offer private Soul Songs for clients individually, sometimes internationally from around the world via Zoom. Soul Songs are intimate channeled musical guidance sessions that are always unique and deeply personal.

Alongside this, I’m often preparing upcoming collective experiences in Los Angeles, such as our “Soul Song Journeys” or “Music Souling Experiences”, which usually take place in the late afternoons or evenings. Many people continue to reach out after their sessions for ongoing reflection and support, and I hold space for those conversations as part of the living, evolving relationship that grows through this work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Saskia, and I am the co-founder of Dust of Soul, a musical and spiritual brand I created together with piano artist Michael Angeles. Dust of Soul is based on a simple but powerful remembrance: your soul has a song. Our work is devoted to creating Soul Songs and soul-centered music experiences that invite people back into connection with themselves — their emotions, their inner light, and their deeper sense of truth.

Dust of Soul was born from a life-changing moment. After surviving a paralyzing brainstroke, my entire relationship to sound, voice, and perception transformed. What could have been an ending became a beginning. My voice opened in a new way, and music became not just expression, but communication — a way of listening, feeling, and creating from a deeper inner space. Shortly after, Michael joined my path, bringing intuitive piano, harmonic sensitivity, and a profound musical presence into the work. Together, we began creating live, intuitive musical experiences for individuals and communities around the world.

What makes Dust of Soul unique is that nothing we offer is pre-written or repeated. Every Soul Song is created in real time. We tune into the person or the group in front of us and allow the music to emerge as a living conversation — voice and piano weaving melody, emotion, and intention into something completely personal. Many people describe these experiences as deeply emotional, grounding, and illuminating, because the music mirrors something they already carry inside.

Over the past 13 years, we have shared this work across the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Asia — from intimate one-on-one sessions and sacred ceremonies to international stages, wellness gatherings, and cultural events, including the United Nations International Day of Peace in Times Square. Alongside live experiences, we are also expanding this vision through the Soul Song App, where people can engage with personalized music, guided sound journeys, and reflective practices in their daily lives.

At its heart, Dust of Soul exists to awaken remembrance. We believe music is more than sound — it is emotion, memory, and connection. Our work is about creating spaces where people feel safe to soften, to listen, to release, and to reconnect with their own inner frequency. Everything we are building — sessions, ceremonies, performances, and digital experiences — is devoted to helping people hear the song that lives within them.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The most disruptive moment that reshaped how I see the world was a sudden brain stroke I experienced fifteen years ago that left the left side of my body paralyzed. At the time, I was living what appeared to be a healthy and successful life — I was focused on balanced nutrition, building a fulfilling career, and surrounded by supportive friends. And yet, on an ordinary Wednesday morning, my body suddenly stopped functioning without warning. There were no medical signs, no dramatic buildup. Everything changed in an instant.

What I didn’t understand then — but recognize clearly now — is that for months before the stroke, something inside me had been whispering. I would feel sudden waves of knowing, a quiet but powerful sense that something was not aligned. It came as a deep gut feeling, as if a bigger picture was trying to reveal itself. The feeling would rise quickly, then disappear just as fast. It happened again and again, and because it didn’t make logical sense at the time, I ignored it. Now I understand it was my intuition speaking.

I was moving along a path that looked right on the outside, but wasn’t true for me. I was engaged and preparing for a life that, in my heart, I did not truly want. I was trying to fit in, to be safe, to meet expectations — instead of listening to my inner energy and honoring what I genuinely loved. The stroke became a profound wake-up call. It showed me that I could not abandon myself. In many ways, it forced me to choose my own unique path and to commit to walking it, day after day.

From that moment on, I gave myself permission to discover who I really am. I learned that change can be sacred. Over the past fourteen years, I’ve come to understand that there is always a way forward — even when the destination feels unreachable. With the smallest first step, sometimes nothing more than a conscious breath or a new perspective, doorways begin to open in ways that feel almost magical.

The stroke became my invitation to meet myself anew. And although it was a dramatic and life-altering event, it carried a hidden gift. It offered me the chance to live differently — more truthfully, more consciously, more aligned. I realized that when such a moment arrives, we are asked to act, to step into the path it reveals. Otherwise, the opportunity quietly passes. I chose to walk through that doorway.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Never give up. Stay true to your path, and don’t let go of hope. Trust your inner voice. Learn to recognize it, to honor it, and to live from it — not as an echo of expectations, but as the expression of who you truly are. Especially when life feels heavy, when the road becomes lonely or unclear, remember that your inner voice is still guiding you. And one day, you will understand why every step mattered.

That inner voice is your intuition. Sometimes it whispers as a feeling of discomfort or misalignment. Rather than dismissing it or pushing it away, allow yourself to listen. It often speaks long before the mind can explain.

And if I could offer one more message to my younger self, it would be this: be kinder to yourself. Gentleness is not weakness. In a world that can feel demanding and sharp, softness creates the space where creativity, resilience, and authentic expression can unfold.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Music is healing, not just entertainment. And while entertainment already helps us process emotions and experiences, music goes even deeper. Research increasingly shows that music influences our brain and body — our mood, our stress levels, our nervous system, and even our sleep. This is not something far in the future; it is already being explored and applied today.

It is already known that music can support sleep, which is why so many people use sound and music apps to relax and unwind. We offer the “Soul Song App” with a library of personalized Soul Songs—channels musical journeys in specific beneficial frequencies with guided messages—designed to support people in their everyday lives. It offers a space where individuals can return to guidance, reflection, meditation, and integration (learn more: www.soulsong.app).

Music is officially being used therapeutically and clinically. Music therapy is an established field, and trained therapists work with patients in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and mental-health settings to support emotional expression, reduce anxiety, and improve quality of life.

However, music is still a widely unexplored field. Research into how music affects our body and brain — especially in areas like mental health, cognitive function, stress regulation, and neurological conditions — is constantly expanding. We are only beginning to understand how deeply sound interacts with our nervous system and overall well-being.

One of our clients who experienced a private Soul Song session shared that music and sound are already used in some medical settings to help patients relax and sleep before procedures, sometimes supporting comfort and potentially reducing anxiety or the need for higher levels of medication. This shows how music is already finding its place alongside traditional care.

Another well-known observation is that people with dementia often remember songs even when other memories fade, and that music can help them connect, communicate, and engage emotionally. Music activates powerful areas of the brain related to memory and emotion. Deep interaction with music — listening, singing, or creating — has been shown to influence brain activity and can support mental health and emotional balance.

It is my commitment that music will continue to be recognized as an increasingly important factor in health, recovery, and overall well-being. Dancing can already feel healing when the body moves in rhythm and resonance. Singing offers even greater benefits, and composing or playing music can be deeply regulating, expressive, and empowering.

Aligned with this vision, I also work with clients one-on-one to help them activate their voice through an individualized program. This is not limited to singers; rather, it is an integrative journey through sound, voice, breath, and guided reflection that supports clients in integrating and deepening their previously experienced “Soul Song session”, which is what I am offering as a main service as a Singing Psychic Medium. Guided by the intuitively played music by Piano Medium Michael Angeles, I channel melodies and lyrics and sing them into a song that is created in real time as ‘Dust of Soul.’ Each experience is completely personal and every session is unique — even when someone returns for multiple sessions (individually or in a group) as part of a deeper, transformational journey over an extended period of time.

A Soul Song is created from what I experience from a person’s energetic field and opens a space for soul-level insight that Michael and I transmit in a musical intuitive expression through vocals, lyrics and piano. After the performance, Michael and I share our visual downloads, physical impressions, intuitive messages, and reflections in a private reading.

For more than 13 years, we have used music to empower people individually — supporting them in reconnecting with hope, courage, and inner alignment as they move through life challenges and deeply rooted emotional or ancestral themes. We have witnessed countless personal stories of transformation, where people report profound emotional shifts, greater clarity, inner release, and renewed strength. Through intention, resonance, and meaningful musical experiences, our work is designed to support well-being, self-reflection, and personal growth, and to complement each person’s own healing and life journey.

Throughout history, music has always been part of healing, rituals, and spiritual spaces — from ancient traditions to churches and community gatherings — helping people reconnect with their emotions, their hearts, and one another. Just think of how love songs help us process grief, joy, and longing. We intuitively know music touches something essential in us.

As this understanding grows, I find immense joy in reading, learning, and exploring sound-based and music-centered approaches. Places like Los Angeles are epicenters for this exploration, where people are open to holistic ways of supporting well-being. I truly believe music should be seen as a holistic healing tool, accessible to everyone — not a luxury, but a human resource. That’s why I feel called to help educate and open spaces where people can experience the power of sound for themselves.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes, this happened to me. In such a moment, one learns a lot. The lesson I learned is to be flexible and not overly fixated on something. Not everything that seems valuable is truly valuable. It’s okay to trust your own flow and not stubbornly hold on to a specific outcome.

I realized this when I was overly fixated on something. It turned out that the focus was never on the destination itself but rather on the journey towards it. When I finally reached it, it strangely dissolved, and behind it was something completely different. I only realized how much I had grown through this process much later. Processing this realization is crucial for self-love and self-acceptance. It’s not just about the journey itself but the experiences that come along the way. Each journey offers unique experiences, but they don’t define you. You live through them, find closure, and take what’s best for you with you, and continue your journey. Because you stay on the journey, it’s not truly over.

This is how you progress step by step. When you step back, you realize that you’ve put together a vast puzzle, and you’re surprised that this was the plan all along.

I’m often amazed by my inner strength and myself in general. Sometimes, you I a storm and feel scared to face it. But the closer I get, I realize that it can be resolved, and sometimes it even leads me to something completely different. Also, when I achieve what I’ve wished for, I realize that the joy was in the journey itself. The achievement itself is relatively small compared to the experiences I’ve had along the way.
