Good morning Roman Anthony, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
In the immortal words if Malcom X, “If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.” I wholeheartedly agree. I stand up for people daily. As a double marginalised person I know what it’s like to be treated unfairly or to have less opportunities than others and having to work 100 times harder in order to get half. That being said, I am always going to stand up for those without a voice and those who are disenfranchised, bullied or mistreated. I’ve been like that since I was a child. The simplest lesson we learn as children is to ‘treat others the way we would like to be treated’. That seems to be lost on us these days. Everyone is so quick to get ahead of the next person. They don’t care if their actions harm others as long as they get what they want. I’m no saint, but I can’t compromise my integrity and beliefs if it means stepping on another human being.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello Voyage,
My name is Roman Anthony Pantaleion. I was first interviewed by Voyage LA in 2018 and a few times since. Back in 2018 I was an actor aspiring to move to Paris, which I ended up doing in 2019 and of course we know what happens next. Since then I have been in 8 other film projects including The In-Law Gang on Amazon Prime, Sisters on BET+ with rapper Lil Mama, actors KD Aubert, Columbus Short, Cocoa Brown and Alisa Reyes and Jensen Atwood, Once in A Valentine and Unknown. I moved to London in 2023 to return to University where I have just completed my BA in Creative Writing & Journalism with 1st class Honours. I am head of PR France & UK for Sanaev Beauty based out of Los Angeles by Celebrity Hair/MUA Igor Sanaev and will be headed to Paris in the fall to teach English whilst completing my first book, ‘Love Stories: Pvris’. A series of memoiric-fiction dating stories of my previous time living in Paris.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Grandmother. I am certain she knew me through and through and with that nurtured me even when others, including myself, didn’t know or understand who I was.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are loved so very much.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Overlooking the human aspect of life. When you become too analytical you forget the cause and effect it has on humans. Like we can talk about immigration issues and boarder control in a logical sense, but when the actions are taking place it all looks inhumane. We must think, is there a way to achieve what is logical without doing so in a way to cause trauma to others? The elders would say when you become too smart you become less human. It’s okay to feel empathy for others.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
He cared about people and for people. He would set you straight if you were misbehaving then he would love you and feed you. He wanted the best for everyone even if it meant he would have less.
