We recently had the chance to connect with Michelle Nava and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up, check my phone, Postmate iced coffee, and jump in the shower.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Michelle Nava.
I am a Los Angeles Native.
I am the owner of a private Hair Studio in Westwood.
I specialize in Blonde Hair color.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Peter Alford is My Mentor.
He has been doing hair for about 50 years.
I trained under him when i was in my early
20s.
He taught me that through hard work and discipline i could accomplish anything.
He is a perfect example of someone who is self made.
He shaped me and turned me into a true Professional.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I started using my pain as power when i realized that no one was going to save me. It has always been sink or swim.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my few closest friends can agree that me becoming a mother and having a family one day is high on the list.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
I have always wanted to be a musician. I think never fully going for it would be one my regrets.
