Story & Lesson Highlights with Johnny Metro of Los Angeles CA

Johnny Metro shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Johnny , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
Oh I feel true joy anytime I walk into a theme park – that’s exactly why I got into content creation to begin with. I think a lot of people can relate and resonate with me when I say the parks spark an endless amount of joy for me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello I am Johnny Metro, a relentless lover of theme parks, pop culture, Los Angeles, and everything those things have to offer. I like to think I spark joy by bringing my followers and friends a unique perspective on what it’s like to love these places through my eyes.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
The bonds between people break down when we don’t believe in abundance – when we feel envious or live in comparison of others. There is a tremendous abundance for all of us to share, there is no reason to believe we can’t all share in the plentiful joy all around us every day. Our bonds will only become stronger when we share everything with each other and go beyond our differences.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Getting over my fear of rejection was a huge turning point in my life – you have to be able to fail many many times in order to reach success. So many people have a tough time with being resilient in the face of failure and so did I! But when you realize failure is just another part of the journey, you become unstoppable.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I rely on anyone and everyone’s ideas every day – because without the wisdoms of friends and followers I wouldn’t be where I am now. I study everyone’s ideas constantly because there always room for growth, I will never ever stop growing as a person and there are new things to learn every single day.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I want people to tell about me is how I made them feel – when I’m gone I hope that is my true legacy. Not my achievements or what I accomplished – what’s important is how they felt seen when they were around me or how they felt safe in my presence.
