Hi Christian, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I begin each day with prayer and meditation, which helps me center myself and set a positive tone for the day. Spending time in reflection and with God is an important part of my routine. Afterward, I head to the kitchen to prepare breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Christian Frazier, also known as BeatsMadebyFresh—though most people just call me Fresh. I’m a music producer and musician based in Los Angeles, California, with a deep-rooted passion for music that comes from my family. Both of my parents and my grandparents are musicians, so music has always been a part of my life.
I got my first start playing drums in church alongside my mom and brothers, and by the age of 10, I was already diving into production and songwriting. I’ll never forget my 10th birthday, when my mom booked a studio session for my brothers and me just to make beats. That experience was my very first session—and it marked the beginning of the journey that shaped me into the artist I am today.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My dad was the one who recognized my potential before I could see it myself. He consistently invested in my craft—from buying me my first Casio keyboard to hiring a piano teacher for private lessons. He always spoke life into me, encouraging me to grow and pushing me to be even better than he was.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
I remember as a kid, whenever I felt sad, I would sit at my keyboard and play something melancholy just to stay in that mood. But the moment I shifted to a more uplifting melody, I noticed my emotions begin to change. That’s when I first realized the power music has to influence and shape our moods.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m the same person all the time—always smiling, staying positive, and showing up as my true self. What you see is always the real me.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I don’t do things for the praise of people. Everything I do comes from my love for the craft and my desire to glorify God—and at the end of the day, that’s what truly matters.
