Rising Stars: Meet Violet Grae of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Violet Grae

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania called, Connellsville. Growing up in such a close-knit community, I quickly realized that my dreams stretched far beyond the town limits. As long as I can remember, I have been a performer in every way. Music was my passion, my escape, and my way of expressing myself when words weren’t enough.

At the young age of fifteen, I started touring and performing with bands, experiencing the rush of live shows and the deep connections that music can create. These early years on the road shaped me not only as an artist but also as a person. Every venue, every late-night rehearsal, and every conversation with fellow musicians taught me something new about the industry and about myself. The lifestyle was demanding, but I embraced every challenge, knowing that each experience was a stepping stone toward something greater.

Being an artist, I’ve learned so much during this unparalleled journey. From the thrill of songwriting and collaborating with other musicians to the behind-the-scenes work that makes a project successful, I gained invaluable knowledge through trial and error. Over time, I found myself naturally stepping into a mentorship role—offering guidance, sharing insights, and helping fellow musicians navigate the complexities of the industry.

I slowly started working with other musicians and vocalists along the way, and something clicked: I loved helping others grow just as much as I loved performing. After giving out countless pieces of free advice to artists and bandmates, I had a realization—I could turn this passion into a career. I wasn’t just making music; I was shaping careers, inspiring confidence, and giving artists the tools they needed to succeed.

And here we are! What started as a passion has evolved into something much bigger. Whether it’s coaching vocalists, refining a band’s sound, or helping artists find their unique voice, I am committed to using my experience to uplift and empower others. Music has given me so much, and now, I get to give back in a way that truly matters.

The journey is far from over, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Throughout my career, I have worked for several music companies, studios, and labels, both as an employee and a contractor. Each experience, whether positive or negative, taught me invaluable lessons about the industry—what to do and, more importantly, what not to do. One of the biggest turning points in my journey came when I witnessed firsthand how artists and clients were being mistreated and misled under poor leadership. I saw talented individuals being taken advantage of, their trust manipulated, and their creative aspirations diminished by companies that prioritized profits over people.

As time went on, employees and artists from these businesses began reaching out to me, confiding in me their frustrations, heartbreak, and feelings of being undervalued. I listened to their stories, and with each conversation, it became clearer that I couldn’t make real change while remaining in an environment that thrived on exploitation. If I wanted to be part of the solution rather than contribute to the problem, I needed to take a leap of faith and create something different—something built on integrity, respect, and genuine support for artists.

Making the decision to step away and start my own business was one of the hardest and most rewarding choices I have ever made. It meant walking away from security and familiarity, but it also meant finally having the freedom to build a space where artists could feel safe, valued, and empowered. I wanted to foster an environment where creativity could flourish without fear, where artists wouldn’t have to second-guess the intentions of those guiding them.

If there’s one piece of advice I can offer from my journey, it’s this: If something is not good for you or the people around you, leave. Do not stay in situations that compromise your values or hinder your growth. Loyalty is not something that should be blindly given—it is something that must be earned. Have the faith and courage to stand on your own two feet, because sometimes, the only way to create real change is to step out of the shadow of broken systems and build something better.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am often referred to as a “fixer” in the music industry—a title I wear with pride. My work extends far beyond simply managing careers; I serve as a guiding force for artists, influencers, and entrepreneurs, ensuring they receive the support, strategy, and advocacy they deserve. From representation and contractual negotiations to coaching, writing, and production, I provide a wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Social media management and artist advocacy are also integral parts of my mission, ensuring that every creative voice I work with is amplified and protected.

Above all, I prioritize new releases and promotions, understanding that an artist’s work deserves to be heard, recognized, and celebrated. But my role goes beyond logistics—I strive to be the unwavering support system, the backbone that artists can rely on, and the cheerleader who believes in them even in moments of doubt. The Grae roster is more than just a collection of talent; it is a family, and I take immense pride in every artist I have the privilege of working with.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see several significant trends and shifts shaping the music industry. AI will continue to play a bigger role in areas like music production, marketing, and even live performances. Artists will increasingly use AI-powered tools for tasks such as songwriting, sound design, and mastering, streamlining their creative processes.

The way artists engage with their fans will evolve, with more emphasis on direct, personal interaction. Platforms like Patreon, Substack, and immersive spaces such as Discord will make it easier for artists to monetize their fanbase. Fans will demand more personalized and authentic experiences, seeking one-on-one interactions and exclusive content from their favorite artists.

Music will also continue to diversify, with genre fusion and global influences becoming more prominent in mainstream sounds. Non-Western musical styles have already gained traction, and the next decade could see even more cross-cultural collaboration and genre blending, expanding our definition of what “mainstream” music truly is.

The traditional model of relying heavily on album sales will shift even further. Artists will explore diversified revenue streams, such as branded content, licensing deals, and cross-industry collaborations. The rise of influencers and brand partnerships will continue to blur the lines between music and other industries.

The development of the metaverse will play a major role in the future of live performances. Virtual concerts will become a significant part of the music landscape, allowing artists to perform in virtual worlds where fans can attend from anywhere. These performances may even incorporate augmented reality, creating more immersive and interactive shows for fans worldwide.

With all the emerging technology and new opportunities, it’s an incredibly exciting time for the music industry.
