Rising Stars: Meet Trevan Castillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trevan Castillo. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Trevan Gregory Castillo was born in the vibrant Town of Dangriga, Belize Central America. His tenacity has always fueled his passion for promoting and defending the Garifuna Culture. Trevan has been actively involved in his community and represented his culture and country Belize in various youth forums internationally.

He enjoys spending time with friends and family while indulging in mother nature’s best-kept secrets. His love of nature and outgoing personality inspired his choice of study. He obtained an associate degree in biology and environmental science from Ecumenical Junior College in Dangriga Town.

In the early 2020, Trevan migrated to the United States in search of more opportunities. Since moving, he continues to climb the ladder with his passion in modeling, creative director, wardrobe stylist and content creation for brands like Forever21, Allsaints and Pacsun Los Angeles just to name a few.

With the opportunity and knowledge of working with these international brands Trevan started his own clothing brand called “ Long Weekend “ which was created on the basis of unwinding and relaxation in mind.

Long Weekend is not only a brand but a community that recognizes the importance of one’s own sanity at his or her own lane, own race and certainly own pace. Who doesn’t look forward to a long weekend? But most importantly a productive one. Trevan teaches many through his brand that Life is beautiful and we only get one shot at it, so take time to embrace you and spend time doing the things you love. Cheers To Long Weekend.

With his drive and passion, he’s a role model to many and live by the quote, “When obstacles arises, change your direction and not your decision to get there”.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m not a person who often reflects on the negative aspects of life, but one thing I can say every challenge and obstacle, whether hate or others telling you no, has prepared me significantly.

I remind myself the importance of being authentic and the positive impact I want to continue spreading in this world.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So am an entrepreneur all day every day, but besides that I put my creative skills to work on social media and I influence others. I’ve been creating content for brands as well as my brand Long Weekend ( LNGWKND ) and I certainly enjoy doing it.

I’m most proud of my growth. As a Belizean born, we don’t often see ourselves in spaces like these. So having the opportunity to maximize them brings me great joy because am living proof that anything you want in this world is achievable.

My Outgoing personality and my authenticity set me apart from others. Growing up with my grandma, she instilled the values and importance of being humble. I can say with this attitude it has opened many doors for me.
